Hello Guys!

Minimum time sana is at least 2 months. Self-study ang guide na to, so kung kaya ng attention span
mong makinig ng more than 12 hours of lecture, stop reading and disregard this guide.

It is best to master the basics.
Take time to realize.. Take time to understand yung topics, if hindi mo na
nauunawaan ang binabasa mo, go to sleep or better yet exercise(akyat-baba ka lang sa stairs okay na yun). Do
not play video games or manood ng videos, kasi once you get back to reading, naubos na pala energy mo sa
video games, etc..
watch mo. If maglalaro ka, tipong nabasa mo na dapat yung 1/2 to 1/3 ng handout para tulog ka nalng after
laro. This sound hippocritical pero naglalaro kasi ako in study breaks, and I end up wasting the day than being
productive. Sanity is more important than license(eto yung biggest lie para majustify ko paglalaro ko hehe).
BUT its better to have both, so ayusin nyo lang sched nyo.

I suggest to divide the 12 subjects into trio of subjects. Two weeks may be allotted in 1 trio.

1st Trio - Biochem, Physio, then Patho. Or kahit pag jumble nyo. Basta yang tatlo ang unahin nyo. Yan ang mga
magiging foundation nyo althroughout your self-study. Apply and correlate learnings prospective and
retrospective. Magsulat ng notes! If you came across something that is unfamiliar, or sounds familiar, look it
up. Uso google hehe

Biochem - Top Notch handouts for theoretical part. Sa pathways, better to use the images we have from our
1st year med manuals/harper. Dun kasi better illustrated mga pathways. Medyo maliit kasi yung pathways sa
hand out. Pero kung kaya nyo namn basahin from handout, then better. Connect all pathways in a single
manila paper or cartolina, and put all your notes in that big paper(inhibitor/stimulator, ets..). You have to
write this on your own. Learnings will not stick to your head if pinicturan nyo lang. Kung kaya nyo naman
i-visualize yung buong pathway sa utak nyo, go lang haha. Post the Cartolina in the wall of your room.

Physio - TN handout is enough. Sulat kayo sa handout ng mga things that blew your mind kasi hindi nyo pa sya
na-encounter from medschool. Along the way, yung mga learnings from previous pages, isulat nyo ulet once
na encounter nyo sa next pages. Connect the things you learned. Connect, connect, connect! Sa pag-aaral,
connection is everything.
Make sure na naunawaan nyo yung binabasa nyo, wag highlight ng highlight, my gad! Pag nasusuka na sa info,
matulog or mag exercise. Repeat the cycle.

Patho- Mostly combination ng Biochem at Physio. Same learning style as physio. Nung time ko, 6 days ko
tinapos yung patho handout ng TN. You dont need to be fast, you need to understand. Write down your
learnings!
Next trio - Ana, Sx, OB

Ana – well.. as nung nasa med school tayo, memorize!!!! De joke lang. No need to memo OINA, BUT you need
to understand OINA to correlate mechanism ng muscle movements. Bakit may medial deviation ang thigh pag
nag contract yung ganung muscle, kasi origin nya pala is in that part and naka insert on that part.. things like
that. Still understand those. Better if
sasabayn nyo ng netter or mag search nalang kayo gamit phone para convinient. Pag may landmarks or
triangles na diniscuss at hindi mo alam kung ano yun or hindi mo alam significance nun, google mo g*go.
Hehe. Save the photos of anatomical
Monteggia/Galeazzi fracture(ano itsura nung pathology at unawain nyo yung mechanism of injury bat ganun
itsura nya, but do not overthink haha).

Sx – BASICS!!! Basics ka lang ng basics dito. (trauma, burns, etc..)
Still, at least one read kayo ng
TN handout. It is sufficient na.

OB/Gyne – TN handout with OB gold.
FEU trans + OB gold, OR TN handout with OB gold. Isa lang. Faithful dapat tayo sa isang reviewer. Sobra gulo
pag dalawa binasa nyo haha. Nung time namin, focused sila sa management. Example case ng endometriosis
tpos 40y G4P4, uninvolved yung ovaries, ita-TAHBSO mo ba, or TAHBS lang? Palaging nag ma-matter ang age
at parity. Age kasi kelangan nya pa ba yung ovaries(hormones)/uterus(childbearing) nya? Parity kasi
kelangan/gusto nya pa bang manganak? Things like that ang iko-consider mo.

Next Trio – Micro-Para, IM, Pedia. Pde nyo i-second trio to kesa mag surgical trio kayo. Basta unahin nyong trio
yung physio, biochem, at patho.

Mirco-Para – Nung time namin, sequence to(cascading yung tanong, every 3 numbers).
then either management, life cycle, hosts, transmission, drug of choice, etc yung tanong nila. Wag na wag
kayo mag overthink!! First thing that comes to your mind is probably the correct answer. Ang mga cases na
tinanong nila is yung usual cases na makikita mo. Hindi sila magtatanong ng zebra. Madalas horses lang ang
tanong. I mean common cases ang itatanong nila kaya wag masyado mag overthink. TN handout is enough.

IM – Cascading questions din ‘to nung time namin. #2-100, 3 questions per case. So 33 cases samin.
Sorry, wala akong stand dito
kung okay ba ang TN handout for this. Hindi kasi ako nakapagbasa ng handouts for IM except TN pearls. Sabi
I’m sure makakasagot at makakasagot kayo dito. Isabay ang pharma
habang nagbabasa ng IM cases
Pedia – nung time namin, milestones and growth lumabas. Eto isa sa madaling exam nung time namin. Hindi
gaano lumalabas yung mga criteria for diseases.
Same reason sa IM.

Pharma – isinisingit lang dapat to per topic.
yun.
Better to write down the drugs according to drug classes. Kahit ganun lang, wag
nyo na lagay yung MOA, side effects and other shits. Pag nakita nyo yung gamot na nilista nyo, dapat may
information na nag bbranch out sa utak nyo na properties nung gamot and other shits nila.

Prev med and Leg med are stand-alone topics. Suggest ko basahin nyo ‘to in between trios, unahin nyo na
yung Legal Med

TN handout for legal med is sufficient na, sabayan nyo lang

Dasal nalang kayo habang nagsasagot
haha!

Disclaimer:

Things in here are merely suggestions for an ideal study schedule for conditions stated above. Its always your
discretion to adjust your schedule and style to what suits you best. I didn’t attend lectures kasi 30mins lang
ang attention span ko, rest of the time natutulog lang ako sa seat, and nag absence seizures. Sayang ang araw.

I enrolled at a review center(not TN, I just used their handouts for self-study), ending up na hindi ako nakikinig
and I was just sleeping at class hours. At my
pace, naubos ko yung 1 month just for the basics(1st 6 subjects), and 1 month nasayang sa pagtulog sa review
center. Then we had a 6 week delay for the 2nd half of the exams. Three weeks tulog and play lang ako, 2
weeks for pre-res stuffs, and 1 week for clinical exam prep. I didn’t had the chance to read IM, Pedia, Sx, and
OB handouts from TN. So I used the TN pearls for replacement since I had only a week to study the clinical
subjects and PrevMed part. Ano nga ba point ko dito? Kung ano ang style mo mag-aral since medschool, and
if effective sya sayo, stick with it. Studying for PLE starts by
the time you step into med school ;)
