NARRATIVE ORIENTATION (ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS)

The lead speaker, Sir Anthony Bactol. Has shared his knowledge about environmental
awareness. With his utmost knowledge on studying about environment and presents volatile sharing for
us students. That help us learn new things/ideas and also it help us to absorb the new information about
environmental awareness. Sir Bactol has presented various kinds of pollution (Air, Water, Soil, and
Noise) that had affected our world. Most of all, sharing the recent information that had affected to our
country, the Philippines.

The first topic that brought up is the Air pollution it has killed a millions of people and the
cause of it is born of combustion-related activities, such as petrol and natural gas, emission from diesel,
and open burning of waste and coal combustion. These results for the citizens to experience dizziness,
headaches and nausea due to the lack of fresh air. It also brings up that due to the pandemic and the
lockdown. Sir Anthony said that the air pollution has decreased because people choose to stay at home
to make sure their safety. This result for the air to be clean again and seeing the night sky can determine
of the cleanliness of the air and it makes me feel happy to see it.
Second topic is the Water pollution. The Water pollution is any kind of bodies of water that releases
substance that can toxic and unsafe for people to consume. The cause of it are the different
contaminants, including toxic waste, petroleum, and disease-causing organisms.
The third topic is Soil pollution. Means that the soil contains toxic chemicals, in high concentrations to
pose a risk to human health and/or the ecosystem.
The fourth topic is the Light pollution. Is the excessive or poor use of the artificial light, that would
disrupt the natural patterns of wildlife, contributes to the increase of CO2 in the atmosphere, disrupts
human sleep, and obscures the stars in the sky.
And lastly the Noise pollution. Which teachers can relate to if there were face to face classes or hearing
a parent’s endless nagging. Is defined as regular exposure to elevated sound levels that may lead to
adverse effects in humans or other living being.

After hearing that lecture I realized that we just accept the fact that our environment was
easily dying we didn’t do any solution to solve it . Yes, we are finding ways to save the environment.
But we don’t cooperate if theirs an activity or program about environment we always say that “it only
takes my time it is not even important”, it sad to hear but its true. Sir Bactol already shared his suggested
solutions to this we just need to apply it and do it. As the future teachers, we need to be responsible in
our own first before apply it to other and before a good example to the future generation. Because I
believe it always start in our self. We need to be a good model to everyone, so in that way we can help
our world to reduce the problem in our surrounding and environment. Always remember be responsible
in everything we do cause it can affect the whole world.
