BRAKE (FRONT) FRONT BRAKE(for 4WD and Pre-Runner) REASSEMBLY

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

HINT:
· Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
· The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE

1.TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG 47547B

a. Temporarily install the front disc brake bleeder plug to the disc brake cylinder assembly LH.
HINT:
The front disc brake bleeder plug will be tightened to a torque specification in the "Bleed Brake Line"
procedures.

2.INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE BLEEDER PLUG CAP 31478B

3.INSTALL PISTON SEAL

a.

Lithium soap base glycol grease

Apply a light coat of lithium soap base glycol grease to 4 new piston seals.

b. Install the 4 piston seals to the disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

Securely install the piston seal into the groove of the disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

4.INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE PISTON 47731

a.

*1 Cylinder Boot
*2 Front Disc Brake Piston

Lithium soap base glycol grease

Apply a light coat of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire inner circumference of 4 new cylinder
boots, and the entire circumference of the top and bottom of the outer edge as shown in the illustration.

b. Apply a light coat of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire outer circumference of the 4 front disc
brake pistons where they contact the cylinder boots and disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

c. Install the 4 cylinder boots to the 4 front disc brake pistons.

d. Install the 4 front disc brake pistons to the disc brake cylinder assembly LH.
NOTICE:
Do not forcibly install the front disc brake pistons to the disc brake cylinder assembly LH.

5.INSTALL CYLINDER BOOT

*1 Cylinder Boot
*2 Set Ring
*3 Front Disc Brake Piston

a. Install one side of each of the 4 cylinder boots to the disc brake cylinder assembly LH.
NOTICE:
Install the cylinder boot securely into the grooves of the disc brake cylinder assembly LH and front disc
brake piston.

b. Using a screwdriver, install the 4 new set rings.

NOTICE:
Do not damage the cylinder boot.
