2) Previous knowledge:
Students must have read in the newspaper about economics and statistics.
Students must have watched the news on television regarding economical and
statistical problems arising due to various reasons.
Students must have read magazines relating to economical and statistical
organisations.
Students must have heard about the various methods of collecting data such as census
method and sample method.
3) General Objectives:
a) Knowledge:
1. Students are able to define Economics.
2. Students are able to define Statistics.
3. Students understood the difference between Economic Activities and non-Economic
activities.
4. Students understand the importance of statistics in economics.
5. Students recall the two methods of collection of data.
b) Comprehension:
1. Students explain the Government plan with regard to the collection of data
through Census and Sample survey.
2. Students described various ways to collect primary data and secondary data.
c) C) Application:
I. Students prepared a writing on meaning of economics and collection of data.
d) Analysis:
I. Students compared the Government measures of India and other countries in relation to
economics and statistics.
II. Students identify various methods of collecting data.
e) Synthesis:
I. Students arranged the method of collecting primary data and secondary data.
II. Students construct the plan to prevent the misuse of data collection.

I. Students judge the right and wrong practices related to economics and statistics.

Role Play: Some students will be told to act as interviewer and interviewee and they will be
explaining two different situations covering direct personal interview, telephone interview
and mailed questionnaire. The classroom students were asked to guess the situations what the
