Ākhyāta prakaraṇa
Chapter on verbs and grammatical processes
pertaining to the structures of verbal elements
III1
1 According to Liebich, the subchapters a,b,c d belong to the third chapter and the subchapters e, f, g,h belong to
the forth chapter. However, Eggeling and Karmakar disagree. They opine that all the aforementioned subchapters
(a,b, c,d,e,f,g,h ) belong to the third chapter entitled „ākhyāta“.

parasmai pāda(3/1/0)
saṃprasāraṇa pāda(3/4/0)
11 To Liebich B., this subchapter belongs to the fourth chapter of the grammatical work known as Kātantra.
Neither Eggeling J, nor Karmakar S. agree with him. To them, it belongs to the third chapter of Kātantra.

12 Instead of a long «ī», according to Samir Karmakar, a short «i» should be found here (e.g. «dambhi-nām-
aguṇe» in place of «dambhī-nām-aguṇe») p. 131. Eggeling disagrees (p.243).
13
Eggeling states that there is a manuscript containing the form «dansi» in place of «danśi»(p.244).

16 According to Eggeling, there is a manuscript containing the segment «iḍivikaraṇe» instead of «iḍvikaraṇe»
(p.255). On the other side, Karmakar inserts «idvikaraṇe» into the text instead of «iḍvikaraṇe» .(p.137.)
17 According to Liebich, it should be written «yināyīṣu» instead of «yināyiṣu»(p.82).
18 Eggeling informs us about a manuscript containing the segment «disyāḥ» in place of the segment «disyoḥ»
(p.257).

19 Eggeling tells us that a certain version of the commentary to the Kātantra contains the word «dhātūnāṃ» here.
It is inserted into the commentary to the Kātantra between the word «śamādīnāṃ» and the word «dīrgho»(p.262).
20 For some unusual reasons, Sarkar writes «sthastiṣthaḥ» instead of «sthastiṣṭhaḥ» (p.141). Not unexpectedly,
Eggeling tells us that the real content of the sūtra is as follows: «sthastiṣṭhaḥ» (p. 263).
21
Eggeling informs us about the existence of a manuscript containing the form «guṇi» instead of «guṇini» (p.264).
22
After that, he informs us about the existence of a manuscript containing the form «iḍ» instead of «īḍ» (p. 266).
18
23 Instead of the segment «smiṅ» Karmakar inserts the segment «smiṃ» into the text. Eggeling and Liebich
disagree with him.
24 Eggeling tells us that there is a manuscript containing the segment «'yurunu» instead of the segment «'yuruṇu»
(p.276).

ityākhyātāṃ samāptam26
26 Karmakar's edition of the Kātantra grammar contains the words: «the end of dhuṭ pāda of ākhyāta prakaraṇa»
(p.151). The conclusive words «ityākhyātāṃ samāptam» are taken from Eggeling's edition of the Kātantra
grammar (p. 298).
