UNIT-I
1. Name the architect of Bibliotheque Nationale, Paris. Describe it’s
salient architectural features of Bibliotheque Nationale and discuss
how the use of the building material is justified. 10

2. With the help of suitable sketches name and discuss the two
significant structures of the Great Exhibition of 1859. 10
UNIT-II
3. Discuss the influences and significance of the Amsterdam Stock
Exchange in contemporary architecture and it’s association with
the term ‘True Construction’. Name it’s architect. 10

4. With the help of sketches and details illustrate any two works of
Frank Lloyd Wright which incorporates the concept of ‘Organic
Architecture’. 10
UNIT-III
5. What do you understand by the term ‘International Style’?
Name any one architect associated with the style. Discuss any
one of the architect’s architectural work in detail which adheres
to the style. 10

“Programmatic Functionalism”. Explain referring to any one

UNIT-V
9. Referring to some of the architectural works of Laurie Baker,
briefly analyze the aesthetics of low cost architecture as
developed and practiced by him. 10

10. The architecture of Charles Correa is referred as the modern
adaptation of age-old heritage of Indian Architecture. Justify the
statement and discuss it with proper example and illustrations. 10
