TOWER CRANE FOUNDATION DESIGN

BASE ON SUPLIER SPECIFICATION

TOWER CRANE LOADING PLAN

REQUREMENT REINFORCEMENT BASE ON SAFE 2016 DESIGN (20-D25) FOR 1.4 M THK

Rebar Area of Foundation = 32 x 0.25*3.14*25*25 = 15700 mm2

Foundation Section Area = 6500 x 1300 = 9100000 mm2

Ratio Rebar toward Section area = 11779 mm2/ 9100000 mm2 = 0.00173 (0.173 %)

Base SNI-03-2847-2002, minimum rebar ratio for Shrinkage Reinforcement is 0.0014 (Rebar design
supplier still OK)
SNI-03-2847-2002

REQUREMENT REINFORCEMENT BASE ON SAFE 2016 DESIGN (18-D25) FOR 2.0 M THK
But follow the regulation SNI-03-2847-2002 the Shrinkage Reinforcement should be minimum 0.0014.

Then,

Foundation Section Area = 6500 x 2000 = 13000000 mm2

Rebar Area of Foundation Requirement = 0.0014 * 13000000 = 18200 mm2

Area 1 rebar D25 = 0.25*3.14*25*25 = 490.625 mm2

Number of Rebar Requirement = 18200 mm2 / 490.625 mm2 = 37 pcs

Total quantity of rebar = 37 x 4 = 148 pcs

Based on soil investigation data in the depth 5.5-6.00 the Cu = 0.32 kg/cm2 and Ф=17.8 degree

Base on Terzaghi table for Ф=17.8 so Nc = 12.9, Nq=4.4, Ngamma=2.5

Bases on our data we can calculated the Allowable Bearing Capacity:

Qall = (Cu.Nc + Df.Gamma.Nq+0.5.B) / 3 (this equation can be simplified to be)

Qall = Cu.Nc/3 = 0.32 kg/cm2 x 12.9 / 3 = 1.376 kg/cm2 = 0.1376 Mpa

Base Tower Crane Specification the Earth Bearing Pressure = 0.15 Mpa > 0.138 Mpa (the Bearing
Capacity still oke because our safety factor is 3 and we have additional pile to support the foundation.

If we using the safety factor 2.5 the allowable capacity = Qall = Cu.Nc/2.5 = 0.32 kg/cm2 x 12.9 / 2.5 =
1.65 kg/cm2 = 0.16 Mpa > 0.15 Mpa. (Allowable bearing capacity still enough to support Tower Crane.
