 ABSTRACT

Fuel has been the major source of energy for all these years. Each and every item

has certain amount of petroleum. The fuel prices are a significant determinant of

worldwide economic performance. The fuel price rise results in a transfer of income

from fuel importing to fuel exporting countries according to a shift in terms of trade This

price hike not only affected at macro level but also to every individual user. It affects the

consumers because the price hike is directly shifted by the fuel manufacturing and

refining companies to the shoulder of the ultimate users. This price hike affects all range

of people especially who are in middle class. Hence, an attempt is made to assess the

impact level towards the raise in price of fuel.

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

The gas price hike that was triggered by the war in Ukraine. This study was conducted
to be more in-depth about the situation of the people that was affected. This study about
the experience and how driver (tricycle driver) cope with the changing gas price. Base in
Wikipedia, Motorized tricycles, or simply known as tricycles the most popular. Means of
public transportation in small towns and cities in the Philippines. The driver of that
Transportation vehicle is known as the tricycle drivers. The tricycle drivers who carry
passengers to their desired destination for a small fee, with the small fee and high gas
price will result to Lower income for their livelihood. The news about the Gasoline price
may my reach ₱100 per liter that would be issue to everyone special the driver with low
income and low pays added by danger of disease (COVID 19). Many people choose to
be tricycle driver to provide for their family conducting the study realize that how
important even the slightest change of gasoline for the driver with that the fees for
transportation will or can go up that will also affect the commuters. Every driver wants to
sustain and provide the needs of their families to surpass every day challenge. On the
interview that we done with some of tricycle driver they all have the same opinion about
the gas price that it will cause bad effect both drivers and commuters that use public

transportation.
Oil is a nonpolar molecule that is resistant and it is a thick viscous liquid. Oil prices
are rising with the passage of time. The percentage increase in the cost of goods and
services is known as a price hike. Oil price hikes are caused by population growth, high
price impacts, limited supply, and rising demand. The most significant aspect of energy
in the world has always been oil. It provides energy to industries, automobile fuel, and
cooking.
 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This research study aimed to determine the price hiking of gasoline experiences of

selected tricycle drivers in Taal Batangas also stated the problems or questions that

needs to be solved and answered.

Specifically, the study sought to answer to the following questions:

1. What is the Demographic profile of the respondents in terms of?

1.1 Age

1.2 Gender

2. How do they support their living as a tricycle driver if difficulties come in?

3. How much is the income they should earn in a day?

4. How the Gasoline price affect them for long term?

 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

In this research study, there are people who can gain benefits and those are the:

Researchers. This study will serve as a guide for them to comprehend the many

situations that tricycle drivers face, as well as the benefits of riding a tricycle.

Drivers. This study will express their insights and perspective towards passenger`s

reaction to them, also to give an understanding to the passenger who has a lot of
troubles

in tricycle.

Future Researchers. This study will serve as their basis for more narrowed and
specific

results. Furthermore, this also help them with the other information concerning about
the

effect of the livelihood of tricycle drivers.

 SCOPE, LIMITATION AND DELIMITATION

This study aims to learn how tricycle drivers in Taal Batangas manage to survive
and support their families despite the challenges and struggles they face on a
daily basis. The study will only in Taal Batangas and will only include tricycle
drivers who are registered in that region also known as colorum are excluded
from the study.
