At the end of the 60 minutes period, the students should be able to:
a. Discuss the different kinds of mobile device
b. Identify the advantages and disadvantages mobile device
c. Explained the impacts of mobile devices in our society

II. Lesson Proper

1. Prayer

3. Checking of Attendance
4. Motivation/Questions:
 The Teacher will present pictures in PPT and ask the students if they can
recognize/familiar in each picture
5. Discussion:
 Define what is Mobile Phone and types of mobile phone
 Discuss each type of mobile phone.

III. Discussion Points

What is Mobile Device?

A mobile device is a small handheld and extremely portable computing device having a display
screen with touch input or miniature keyboard.

What is a Smart Mobile Device?

It is a device that has:
 the ability to connect to the internet
 supports user input and interaction
 autonomous operationally
 offers multiple functionality
 light weight and small size.

TYPES OF MOBILE DEVICE

TABLET

 Wireless, portable personal computer

 Touch screen interface
 Form factor smaller than notebook but larger than smartphone.
 Idea of tablet came from Alan Kay of Xerox in 1971.
 First Widely sold tablet was Apple’s Newton which was not a commercial success.

EBOOK READERS

 E-book is electronic version of traditional print book.

 Have either an e-paper display or LCD display.
  e-paper or electronic paper usually displays in black & white.
 Colored & versatile but more difficult to view in bright sunlight.

SMARTPHONES

 Cellular device with integrated computer and other features not associated with telephones.
 First smartphone was IBM’s Simon, which was presented as a concept device at the 1992
COMDEX computer industry trade show.

MOBILE OPERATING SYSTEM

 A mobile operating system (or mobile OS) is a system software that manages the device’s
hardware and software resources and provides common services for its programs.

learn and realize about the types of mobile phone.
2. Advantages and Disadvantages of mobile phones.
3. What is your thoughts about the evolution of mobile phone.

Activity: Create a 1-3 min video which talks about your understanding in today’s lesson by using
this guide statement. (Then and now mobile phones)

(Use video editor like kinemaster, capcut etc. to make the video presentation)
