In this lesson, students will be able to:
 Compare and contrast the characters, setting, and events of “The Sea Maidens of Japan” by
Lili Bell and “The Beekeepers’ Story” by Sheila Black.

Winkle” and “A Knight’s Tale.” They will compare and contrast the two stories.
 Spelling Test: Students will be tested on the words from the story “The Sea Maidens of Japan.”

Formative Assessment:
 Class Discussion on the story questions and the Compare and Contrast Chart.

 Student with Autism will be able to use the spelling packet during the spelling test. He will
listen to the word, scan the spelling list for the word, and write the word down.
