Introduction
In this document I will be designing my digital portfolio which will be showcasing my skills.

It will include subjects I am going to learn about as well as design ideas, time taken,

alternate designs and assets used. It is aimed at employees. This unit is about designing

our own professional website and adding information about me. Also the purpose of this

portfolio is to show employers. The web pages are going to be about the units we will learn

such as The Online World, Technology Systems, Spreadsheet Development, Computer

Networks and Website Design. After completing the btec L2 course I would like to move

onto a level 3. I want to tailor my portfolio and design it so that it looks professional and

impress a future employer. The website will be created using weebly which will format my

work so that it is accessible on the web. My digital portfolio will have a main page and other

pages linked to it and I will organise my portfolio in different sections. I want my portfolio to

be easy to read and therefore I have chosen simple fonts and colours. My website will have

a white background and a banner at the top.

The digital portfolio will include information about me, my future plans and what I have been

doing for the past year. The site will include a home page, introduction, contact us page and unit

pages.

2.1. About Me.

I am a 17 year old student at Shipley College. I used to attend Titus Salts. I am currently

studying IT L2. I’m not sure about future plans but if i do well i know there would be lots of

job opportunities in the IT sector. I selected IT because it is quite interesting. I enjoyed

learning about the subject in school and I was able to resolve some issues on my own

computer. I'm also good on computers

2.2. Purpose.

I have created this portfolio to showcase my best pieces of work. I have created different

segments to make it easier for people to know where to look on the website. I have chosen to

include my best pieces of work that I have received positive feedback on.

3. Future Page.
3.1 Next Steps

This year I'm planning to get high grades and to achieve this I will be focused in lessons and I will

revise in my spare time. Next year I'm planning to do IT L3.

3.2 Two Year Plan

In 2 years I will have hopefully achieved a high grade in IT L3.

3.3 Five Year Plan

In 5 years I am aiming to have completed university with high grades and hopefully secured a

job.

4. Units.
4.1 Unit 1 - The online world

Is an exam based unit.

Unit 1 will be an introduction to the online world. It will be to extend my understanding of

online services and investigate the technology needed to support them. Unit 1 will help me

understand the main technologies and processes used for the internet and investigate how

they let you view websites.

4.2 Unit 2 - Technology Systems

Unit 2 will be about technology systems. This unit shows a perspective of how the main

building blocks of technology systems work.

4.3 Unit 9 - Spreadsheet development

A spreadsheet is a computer program used for accounting and recording data using rows

and columns into which information can be organized. In unit 9 we will do a study of

spreadsheets and how easy they were to use and how businesses use spreadsheets to

graph how much money calculated and to keep a record of it.

4.4 Unit 11 - Computer Networks

A computer network is a group of computers linked to each other that allows the computer

to communicate with another computer and share their resources. There are mainly of 4

types of computer networks such as LAN (Local Area Network), PAN (Personal Area

Network), MAN (Metropolitan Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network)

4.5 Unit 13 - Website Design

Web designing is the process of making websites and pages to reflect a company brand

and information. They ensure that it is a user-friendly experience. We used weebly to

create a website about ourselves, made it friendly to the user and used the main

components of a website. In this unit, I will learn how to design a website, create a website

using HTML, the features of websites and the importance of testing and user feedback

I have used the screen designs below because it is a simple layout, easy to navigate and suitable

colour scheme.

12. User Feedback.

I have asked one of my peers for their opinions on my design website and they have said

that they like how simple the layout of the website design is and they like the fact that I

have neutral colours instead of bright colours. They have said it is good to have neutral

colours because your employees would like simple colours when looking at Your work

rather than having bright colours.

I feel like the site is well structured and well organized although i feel like they should be more

pictures to attract the audience's attention and who it's aimed at. Also putting your text colours

in bold or colour to catch the attention of the audience.

13. Conclusion.

I have learnt how to create a website using a software called Weebly and what tools I need

to create one. I now know how important it is to test websites and give positive feedback to

others. I have learnt about the different units and what information they have to each of

them.
