Explain.
it will lead to tapered surfaces rather than cylindrical surface.

3. How are small Work pieces usually center drilled?

4. What is meant by honing a tool bit? Explain.

It means sharpening, will correct the bore for taper, size, finish and straightness.

5. How can the speed of the machine be safely Approximated before starting to
cut the material

large diameter.

6. Why are cutting oil or coolant used in milling operation?

Reducing and removing the heat build-up in the cutting zone and workpiece.

7. Explain the difference between turret lathe and Engine Lathe.

Engine lathe can hold just one tool of limited size.

8. Why should the speed and length of the stroked be check before starting the
shaper machine?
It will be checked so that you will know its speed and length and for your safety.

9. What is the correct shape of the tool bit?

V-shaped or with two rollers and it forms a box.

10. Explain the basic operation of a shaper.
