2. Answer briefly: 5
a. Hydrogen chloride dissolved in Toluene does not conduct electricity. But HCl
dissolved in water is an excellent conductor.
b. Electrovalent compounds conduct electricity only in molten or aqueous state
but not in solid state.
c. Boiling and melting points of ionic compounds is high whereas covalent
compounds have low melting and boiling points.
