Task – 4

State how the health care manager work with the person by considering safeguarding as a personal
approach

According to (), safeguarding is a significant process that is essential for protecting individuals from
negligence, abuse and harm. It promotes welfare that covers heath –wellbeing as well as safe and
effective care. The purpose of adult safeguarding is to safe adults from the risk of negative aspects (i.e.
harm, negligence). Considering the case study of Mackenzie, it is identified that he was a patient of
paranoid schizophrenia and thus, he was unable to cope with the delusional behaviour. Ellie, the
support worker has been taken responsibility of Mackenzie regarding to his care related factors.

1. Explain the Principles in terms of Safeguarding Personal Approach

In the safeguarding approach, the manager has to visit Mackenzie's house. In reviewing the
patient's background and behavior the manager needs to identify properties or trends. The
patterns for improvement are actively dependent on the patient’s mental condition and how he
deals with abuse and negligence from others (Bonfanti, 2018). Depending on this matter the
manager should take some steps to enforce his power efficiently.
The six safeguarding personal approach principles are-
Empowerment- By understanding the concern and mental condition of the patient empower him
towards doing the positive workflow. It provides encouragement and support to get better
decisions in their life (Romeo, 2017).
Prevention- Before harming himself or anyone understanding their point of view and trying to
solve their problem. A mental health manager tries to understand the personal feelings of the
person and prevent them and society from any kind of harmful behavior.
Proportionality- The manager is working with the patient and understanding the risk factors and
trying to mitigate them by providing probable suggestions.
Protection- The patient needs protection from everyone and himself. His behavior is the enemy
of him. So, the manager should help to identify themselves (Cooper, 2017).
Partnership- Finding the local solutions within the community that prevents increasing the risk
for the patients. As a manager understand the cause of abuse and negligence and talk with the
neighbors.
Accountability- The patient is not getting the point of everyone. He gets to take care of and
support from other people. It helps to understand the person accountable for their activities.

2. Exploring the Person Centric Risks under Mental Capacity Assessment

The planning of advance care involves serving individuals to arrange for their future care. It
supports desires together with medical treatment and exercises personal autonomy. The
continued interaction can help to make bonding with the patient without knowing him. In the
personal context, the safeguarding approach is dealing with six principles (Hamilton, 2017). The
core duties are informative including the personal and general data. The mental capacity
assessment has known a framework and comprised of the principle of person-centered care:
● affording individuals compassion, dignity, and respect.
● offering coordinated support, care, and treatment
● offers the customized support, care, or treatment.
● supporting individuals to acknowledge and develop abilities and strengths for enabling
personal care approaches to measure fulfilling lives and independence.

There is a need for personal care would be possible, and feasible in effective ways. It provides
the attention of proactively managing and assessing risks. It is related to paranoid schizophrenia.
This crisis aims to maintain friendly behavior to release from unnecessary suffering. The positive
behavior helps to get service utilization for the patients (Coffey, 2017).

The framework of person-centered risk assessment may be a risk enablement framework is

person-centered. It is targeted on physical risks, also psychological, spiritual harms, and
emotional of getting rid of activities. These are purposeful and contribute to accurate life quality.
The PCRAF permits persons with insanity to contribute the maximum amount of choices
regarding activities of high risk. The alternative solutions are meeting psychosocial desires that
provide satisfaction to patients (Keene, 2019). Proactive management and assessment of risks
