Equilibrium of Life and Death

In the center of a square room, the

party comes across a large model of a
merchant’s scale made of marble,
seemingly hanging in midair. The scale's
pans are large enough for a human
adult to sit in. Right behind it, at the far
end of the room, there is another
wooden gate, an oaken door depicting a
hooded specter wielding a scythe, and
an angel bearing nothing but a shield.

Stairs lead down through a circular

room with a marble-floored room,
Solution ending on a 10-foot platform in the
middle of the chamber. Atop a small
plinth sits a luxuriously crafted chest. At
the top of the stairs, surrounding the
drop, four silver braziers light each
cardinal direction. The chest itself does
not appear to have a lock. Lining the rim
of the chest are four gemstones, each
about the size of a human fist: a
sapphire, a ruby, a diamond, and an
obsidian. Checking the braziers reveal

engravings of a wave on the north

cloud on the east, and a mountain on
the west brazier. Around the elevation is
a carving of the night sky revealing an
unknown star constellation.
Musician's Lost Muse
Puzzle Features
In the middle of a square room lit by a
torch in each corner sits a chest-high
pedestal on top of which rests a small
wooden box. The lid of the box is
engraved with a harp. The door to the
exit is locked with no apparent keyholes.
Along the walls runs a beautiful mural
of two musicians surrounded by
creatures of the forest: wolves, bears,
and a white stag.

A Burning Reminder

Solution
Within the lightly charred room are three stone
braziers arranged in a triangle with cold coals
nestled within them. Decorating each brazier are
scenes of historical events, each depicting a dwarven
settlement. The visage of a dragon adorns the
doorway ahead, the statue itself almost seeming to
guard the path. In Dwarvish script, the words "by
flame, remember" are etched beneath the center
brazier with a charred skeleton lying beside it. A
stone wheel rests horizontally on a narrow, metal Hint Checks
pillar between the braziers.
Within the chamber, there is a non-descript statue of
some kind of fiend with frightening features. A voice
roars from the statue as its eyes glow with a dim red
aura; "One within this troupe harbors hatred
towards the rest. Those pure of heart may pass, but
the one with ill intend must fall." A door is visible at
the other end of the chamber, and beside the statue
lies a pit with no visible bottom.

Unfounded Treachery
The room features two creatures staring at each
other. One appears to be a petrified adventurer
clutching a large stone key around its neck. The other
is a monstrous creature also of stone. At the end of
the room is a door with a large lock on it.

arched bridge. A worn and sun-bleached plaque
hangs to the right of the ramp. The bridge spans
from the edge of the disk to a raised five-foot-wide
column, 4 ft tall, in the center. The bridge leads
clearly over the four one-foot-wide rings that make
up the outside of the disc. Each ring has 26 letters in
a different language: Common, Dwarven, Elven, and
