Professional Dispositions
Strengths:
Wadha is a great student teacher, she respects and follows the school rules, she attends her lesson
every day, on time. She attends assembly with students, she stays with the teacher inside the
classroom to support her and she always takes parts to support students to learn. During the break
time and the playground, Wadha stays with students to monitor them with the teacher. Generally,
Wadha is consistence on the daily base.

Areas for improvement:

Planning for Teaching & Learning

Strengths:
The unit is about Weather and Sky, and the topic of the week is about The Sun. Based on that,
Wadha started to plan for her lesson, and the learning outcomes of this lesson are:
 Identifies the sun as the major source of heat and light to the earth.
 Identify initial sounds.
 Use simple words and phrases to share ideas.
Based on the topic of the week and the learning outcomes, Wadha started to plan her
activities so she can meet the learning outcomes. However, she prepared a presentation to present
the lesson and to make sure she follows the morning routine and for her time management. She
started by a morning song to welcome students, followed by the classroom rules and what are the
sequences if a student misbehaved. After that she presented the theme and the topic of week and
later she showed the learning outcomes of the lesson and what students will learn. Later on, Wadha
reviewed the topic of the previous week which was about Day and Night, and she asked students
what are the things they may see at day? Then, she played a video about the sun, followed by
asking questions about it. After that she explained that the sun is a source of heat and light by
showing pictures and giving examples. After the science, Wadha reviewed letters, she played the
song of sounds and she played a little game where students have to identify the initial sounds of the
shown pictures.
For the circle time, Wadha prepared an attractive PowerPoint which includes that reading part
and the initial sounds activity. Also, the alphabets cards were next to her, and she used them to
review the letters and their sounds. In addition, when she presented the sun’s facts and she took
students outside to check the heat of the sun. However, centers were prepared on advanced, and
all the needed materials were on tables. In her center time, Wadha read some facts about the sun,
and she asked students to pick a fact, draw a picture and write a sentence. In the writing center,
students practiced their writing, and in the art center, students suppose to create craft about the
sun. In computer center, students were practicing their sounds by using Starfall, and in science
center they have to color the things they see when it’s sunny.

Areas for improvement:

Managing Teaching & Learning

Strengths:
The presentation that Wadha prepared, helped her to manage her time, she spent around 27
minutes in circle, 28 minutes in centers and 10 for closing. Her advanced preparations helped her to
manage the learning process and helped her know what she must do next. For the circle time, all
students got the change to participate, and to identify initial sound game, she picked students
randomly so she can make sure the low students and shy students get the change to be involved.
For centers, as I mentioned before, all activities were prepared on advanced and Wadha wrote
note that tells where each group should.
However, Wadha used traffic light strategy to manage students’ behaviours and Class123 to. During
the circle time, a student misbehaved and she warned him that if he didn’t pay attention, she will
move him to yellow. In centers, students were following rules and when she played the clean up
song, students cleaned their centers and put the materials back and back to the carpet with their
own work.

Areas for improvement:

Implementing Learning

Strengths:

Advanced preparation of the lesson helped Wadha to follow the timetable and the presentation
she prepared was sequent and logically. Before she started the lesson she reviewed the previous
knowledge which was about Day and Night, and to introduce the new lesson she asked questions,
for example, (what do we see at day?). Then she started to talk about the sun, why do we have the
sun, and explain that the sun is a source of heat and light. In addition, to experience the source of
heat, Wadha took students outside to feel the sunshine, and she asked them how do they feel, and
students here experienced the knowledge. Later on, she started to review sounds and asked
students to review individual sounds and she picked students randomly to identify the sounds.
The activities in centers served students to achieve the learning outcomes of the lesson, in her focus
group, she read a book about the sun, what students can see when it’s sunny, and what are the
sources of the sun, then, she asked them to draw something that they can see only by the sunlight.
In art center, students created a sun craft, and they drew few things they can see only by the
sunlight. However, students in centers worked individually, and who finish early, can help someone
else or can move to another center.

Areas for improvement:

Assessing Learning

Strengths:
During the lesson, Wadha was asking questions to check students’ knowledge, and she involved
them on many activities to assess their performance. After reading the book, she asked few
questions, for example, why the ice cream melts when we go outside. Also, with sounds, she asked
students randomly to check if they can identify the shown letter. In centers, while students working
Wadha was checking students work and she was asking questions about their work. At the end of
students, each student presented his/her work, and Wadha was asking them about their work to
assess their knowledge.

Areas for improvement:

Reflection

Strengths:
After the lesson, Wadha and I discussed the main points of the lesson. She believes that her lesson
went much better than the previous lessons, her time management improved and she followed the
timetable as it is. Even her classroom management was got improved, even though during the
circle time a student misbehaved but when she punished him and moved him to yellow, she carried
on with the lesson. Her centers were rich with activities and because of attendance issue, some
centers weren’t used and it gave students who finished early the opportunity to work on something
else. Her feedback to students was improved, each student had the chance to evaluate his work
and the most important thing is that Wadha gave them the opportunity to express their thoughts.
