C. Discussion

The students will be told to draw an object showing the addends and the sum.

✓Addition is taking two or more numbers and putting together to form a sum.
The teacher presents a tree which has fallen leaves on the ground. Teacher will let the pupils count the
number of leaves fallen on the right side and on the left side of the tree. They will identify what are the
addends and what is the sum based on the presentation given.

✓Addends are numbers or terms added together to form a sum. In the picture the
addends are 1 and 4 which are numbers of fallen leaves on different sides.
✓Sum is a result or answer we get on adding two or more numbers or terms. The
sum of the addends 1 and 4 is 5.

D. Application

The teacher will group the pupils into 5. Each group will have two flashcards given consisting of numbers
and shapes to be added. Also, they will put a label on where is the sum and the addends. The members
will work on with together and the finished group will raise their hands for indication that they are done.
The first to finish will have an additional point.

5.6+1=

V.Assignment
In a bond paper, draw any objects that shows addition. You can also color it
whatever you like. Label the addends and sum. Pass your homework in time set for our mathematics
subject.
