INTRODUCTION
In Go Goa, you have 12 days to tour the state,
collecting souvenirs from different tourist destinations.
On each day, you select three dice to decide the direction,
distance, and deviations in the route that you will travel
and then trace a route to your new destination.
Finish your tour in 12 days with the most points from
destinations visited and tour plans completed.

The game takes place over 12 Trip Days. On each Trip Day, players will travel in
Goa and visit different destinations. All players start from the location marked
‘Start Here’ on the Player Sheet.

1 All players cross off the next unmarked Day in the Trip Days row of their
Player Sheet. If its the first round, players cross off Day 1.

2 The Starting Player rolls the three Dice.

3 The Starting Player reserves one Die that only they can use for Direction.
No other player can select that Die for Direction in this round. All other
players can select one of the two remaining Dice for their Direction.
Example: Anusha rolls a 1, 4, and 6. Anusha chooses the 4 as their direction
die. This means that Geeta, Bala, and Kasturi can choose their direction
from either the 1 or the 6 dice.

Reserved by Anusha Can be used by other

for Direction players for Direction Direction Compass
based on die value.

If a player has to choose from dice that moves them outside Goa, they may
use a die and move in the opposite Direction. If they still will move off board,
they may choose the Direction of the Starting Player's die. In the event, none of
these previous choices make it possible to move inside the state, they may
choose any Direction they wish.
Example: Anusha is at Tiracol and has a choice between a 1 and a 6 for their
direction die. A direction of either 1 or 6 would lead Anusha off the map.
Anusha may choose 1 and move in the direction of 4 (opposite of 1).

6
4 All players, including the Starting Player, must choose 1 Die for Distance and
1 Die for Deviation on the route they have planned.

They must not choose the same die twice.

a. The Distance corresponds to the number of tiles the player must move in
the previously chosen direction.
b. The last unused die determines how many Deviations, or turns the player
may make on their route in any angle. A value of 1 to 3 allows the player to
deviate once, and a value of 4 to 6 allows the player to deviate twice.
For example: Anusha chose 4 for Direction, 6 for Distance and 1 for Deviation.
This means that Anusha can travel South, for 6 tiles, and deviate from that
direction only 1 time.

Sheet. If the players reach a Tourist Destination, refer to the next sections on
how to mark the Player Sheet.
Players must continue their journey in the next round from where they
reached in this round. The Starting Player for the next round will be the
player sitting to the left of the current Starting Player.

Players follow the same steps as before until 12 rounds are over (as indicated by
crossed out Trip Days).

Go Goa features five Tourist Destinations: Beaches, Waterfalls, Forts, Historical
Sites, and Religious Sites. If a player ends their path at a Tourist Destination, they
collect a Souvenir!

The player fills the circle on the map and then fills the first free circle (from the
left) in the corresponding Tourist Destinations section of the Player Sheet.

Anusha travels from Mahadev to

Neturlem Falls.

Anusha marks a circle on the Map and

In the Tourist Destinations section as
shown in the figure.

If the Tourist Destination appears

on a player’s chosen Tour Plan, they
must fill the rectangle adjacent to
that destination’s name on the
Player Sheet.

Anusha marks the square of Neturlem

Falls on the Tour Plan.

You do not collect a Souvenir if you:

• Do not end your Trip Day at a Tourist Destination.
• Visit the same Tourist Destination again.

Three beach locations, Calangute, Colva, and Palolem, offer the players an
opportunity to interact with Local Guides. The Local Guides offer a little guidance
about shortcuts and better routes in Goa.

If a player ends their path at any of the three beaches, in addition to the relevant
steps in the Tourist Destinations section, players must join the dotted lines of the
corresponding circle in the Local Guide section.

A player can use a Local Guide to add to or subtract from the value of any one
die in a future round. The die can be changed from 1 to 6 and vice versa.
For example: Anusha wanted to move in the direction of 3. As they chose a die of
4 in value, they can use their Local Guide to decrease its value by 1.

Local Guide ability is

unlocked by joining
the dotted circle.
Once a Local Guide is used,
players must cross it out.
Multiple Local Guides may
be used on the same turn.

Goa is a small state located on the western coast of India. The
state is a famous tourist destination and is visited by tourists
from all over the world. While many tourists travel to Goa due
to its amazing beaches, the state has a lot more to offer.

The roll & write game is an attempt by the brains behind this
game, Suyog Kamat & Andy D, to showcase the beauty of Goa.
As Goans, they collaborated with another fellow Goan,
Alecster Silveira, to bring the joy and fun of Goa to this game.

Go Goa was made with love! We hope you enjoy playing it!
