A South Saskatchewan River
The South Saskatchewan River system is important for
many reasons: Learn more about
(1) It is the #1 source of drinking water in Saskatchewan. the river:

(2) Farmers in Alberta and Saskatchewan need the

water from the river to grow crops.
(3) It runs through the city of Saskatoon and there are
seven bridges in the city that cross it.
(4) It is used for hydroelectricity. Dams are built to
harness the fast moving water and turn it into
electricity. Classroom

B Berry Picking

U-Pick farms are popular on the prairies. Many farmers

grow berries to sell at Farmer’s Markets and also allow Watch this video:
visitors to come to the farm and pick berries from the
trees themselves. The berries are fresh, juicy and
delicious! Some of the fruits that you might find at U-
Pick farm are: strawberries, raspberries, Saskatoon
berries, hacksap berries, and several different kinds of
cherries.
