Nike, distinguished guests, and the Charities Aid Foundation will join forces to create a Nike x
Charities Aid Foundation Dunk. A tennis shoe that will benefit underserved children through
play and sport. Release celebration to be hosted at Nike World Headquarters on, Friday, June
10 at 5 PM.

WHO:    John Donahoe

Lebron James

 WHERE:  Nike World Headquarters
1 Nike Way, Beaverton, OR

WHAT:   Awards grants that help kids unleash their potential through play and sport.
WHEN:   Friday, June 10, 2022, 5:00-11:00 pm

The collaboration responds to the growing levels of child dependency towards electronic devices
and the decline in outdoor play. Approximately 8 hours a day are being spent on some type of
electronic device. Through our partnership with the Charities Aid Foundation, with every pair
purchased, Nike will donate 50% of the proceeds towards communities where our employees
live, work and play, giving children the opportunity to fall in love with play and sport, they’re
more likely to reach their full potential both on — and off — the court.
The Charities Aid Foundation and Nike have created a partnership that has encouraged millions
of children to believe in the power of sport, encouraging movement and activity. Efforts made by
Nike employees and foundation members around the country are responding to calls of action,
either by donating or educating others on the importance of sport among children. Together,
Nike and its partners will donate approximately half a million dollars towards community-based
initiatives. This launch represents the core principals in Nike maxims, “doing the right thing,
always” by providing the resources and ability to provide sport. The sneaker itself was designed
with simpleness and activity in mind. The design, which represents children and the focus on
play and comfort, will feature designs made and approved by the many children we serve to
inspire. If we all Just Do It, we can change the future of sport, one sneaker at a time.
