Project-Based Learning Reflection

Class in which you did the project: Farm to Table

Brief project description:

For this project, I raised a Eurasian Collared Dove that my mom found in the middle of a street.
She was around two weeks old so she was still little and needed extra care.

Your role for the project:

I took care of her and did research to see what she needed.

What did you do, personally, to contribute to the overall project? Be specific!
In this project, I was the one that did research to see how to help her grow and the nutrients she
needed. I found how to get her calcium levels up and gave her freedom to fly around. My mom
would clean her cage while I did the research.

What did you learn about yourself in terms of time management, personal responsibility,
problem-solving, collaboration, or other soft skills via this project?
I had to learn how to create time to take care of her and get her outside the cage and fly. I also
worked with my mom with this project so I learned more about teamwork.

If you had an industry expert or mentor who assisted with this project, what are some things that
you learned from this person?

How has this experience helped prepare you for college or careers beyond high school?
Since I want to become a vet, this project helped me learn more about birds and what they need.
They are not easy to have since they need a lot of care and patience. I also learned how birds
express their feelings and what they are capable of doing once they trust you.
