Summary: I will implement this teacher created materials activity by having Students go back to their
desk after the book has been read and students have reviewed all the information provided by the book.
Then pass out the needed materials given by the teacher and have the students start to color, cut, and glue
the cut out work sheet on the sentence strip.
Directions:

-Show students the coloring activity they are to be doing, and what will be the result which is a
Brown bear head band or hat with all the animals on it.
-Send students to their tables with scissors and crayons and pass out coloring work sheets.
-Have students color and cut out work sheets and then when finished glue them on sentence
strips or head bands.
-Once all the pictures are glued on the sentence strip have them give their hat to you so you can
put it together on their heads.
Illustration:

This teacher created materials that I created is a very versatile activity and can be used in any
type of lesson as a prekindergarten teacher. The use of a sentence strip as a hat for students
works wonderfully because you can glue any type of activities and pictures on it to make a hat
and also make it personal. Given that you can use the activity for a lot of different lessons I will
be using this teacher created material throughout the year by tying it with whatever lesson I am
teaching and always have students color what they want on the hat because that is what makes
the hat personal. This activity benefits the teacher by how easy it is to make it for the students
and how creative they can be with the activity. The students also are very familiar with the
activity as well because it is so commonly used in the classroom, as I have seen in my field site
class, that they already know what to do with it and what it is for. That is one of my reasons why
I chose to do this specific teacher created materials.
