ABSTRACT
This study determined the programs and strategies used by selected Secondary
High Schools in Tri Division of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte, Siargao and in the
province of Dinagat Islands for sustainable support services. This study employed the
mixed method research design specifically the sequential explanatory mixed-method
design which consisted of two distinct phases quantitative followed by qualitative
(Creswell, et.al,.2003). Frequency count and simple percentage mean and standard
deviation, descriptive statistics, Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient and T-
test for independent variables were used to analyze the data distribution pattern for each
variable.
The schools had ways on how to achieve support services like there were often
observed processes involved in structure of management, capabilities, culture, and
strategies. Participants were also supportive to the training development and networking
processes that schools practiced, thus, allowing them to see its impact to human
development and institutional performance. There were programs and strategies such as
Career Guidance and Counseling services, Assessment, Academic Support, Immersion
and Joint Delivery Program for Senior High School Technical Vocational- Livelihood
Specializations being practiced by schools which were believed to be helpful to students
like skills development, economic enhancement, operations, and training enhancement
program.
