QUESTIONS:
A.DO YOU AGREE OR DISAGREE THAT…

1. EXAMS IN CLASS ARE UNDULY STRESSFUL.

 Exams are unquestionably stressful, based on my personal experience. Because taking
examinations requires you to prepare and study more in order to earn a higher score, and
sometimes we find it difficult to understand what we are studying. Furthermore, it is stressful
since exams are frequently high stakes, making students concerned about the exam
outcome, particularly for students who want to achieve a high score to obtain admission to
another course or career path. And I believe that this form of stress is not directly beneficial
for students to learn.

2. EXAMS IN CLASS ARE NOT EQUITABLE.

 In my opinion, exams in class are not equitable. Because exams are stressful for everyone,
but not everyone reacts the same way to them in class. People may have different levels of
test anxiety because of their experiences with stereotypes and their general struggles.
Some students may not be able to perform well because of the added stress of the testing
situation and the possible high stakes of the exam. In addition, some students may have
problems that make it hard for them to take tests. Students who cannot take the exam with
their classmates may feel that their absences make them look bad.

3. EXAMS IN CLASS ARE LOGISTICALLY DIFFICULT TO ADMINISTER.

 In my perspectives, exams in class are logically difficult to administer. Because physically
passing out exams, especially with multiple forms, is laborious and time-consuming. Some
students may obtain their tests several minutes earlier than others in a large class, giving
them an edge. Late students disrupt their classmates and may not finish on time. Similarly,
students who finish early can distract others. Moreover, exam proctoring is a challenging
and imperfect process specially in our situation right now wherein exams are given through
online and teachers can’t observe students if they are cheating while taking the exam.
4. EXAMS IN CLASS ARE NOT EMPATHETIC.
 I think that in-class exams are not empathetic, and I believe in-class exams generally lack
the support and understanding of our students' possible emotional and academic obstacles.
Also, in-class exams rarely allow for individuality or creativity, especially for the subjective
type of exams that focus in one subject only.

5. EXAMS IN CLASS ARE NOT FUN.

 For me, the exam is fun even though it is stressful. Nevertheless, I accept that many
students do not find exams are fun. For instance, I notice students don't discuss exams
when they recall their most memorable classroom experiences. Instead, they tell us about
their projects, research, and innovative ideas on their class activities . These are the more
entertaining and powerful ways students show and apply their learning.

B. AS A FUTURE SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER, WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?

 As stated above, there are five reasons why we should not administer exams in class.
However, I believe that administering exams is still necessary in order to assess how much
students have learned. And I think that as a would-be teacher, there are many ways to
consider adjusting the exam experience in order to address at least some of those concerns.
For example, a teacher should inform students about the exam's coverage ahead of time so
that they can prepare for the exam and avoid feeling stressed while taking it. Furthermore,
allowing students to use resources such as textbooks and class notes to help them provide
more profound answers to questions may reduce test anxiety while also assisting them in
providing more profound answers to the questions. However, as a teacher, you should
inform them that they should not copy the idea from the text and that the textbooks will only
be used as a reference.
