Individuals in organization during the course of time bring the variety in terms of personalities,

values and attitudes. Any individual’s stable characteristics affect the behavior and performance
in terms of outcome. And it is the universal truth that any company would hire people with the
expectation of certain knowledge, skills, abilities, personalities and values that they will bring in
the workplace. These expectations in terms of knowledge, personalities, values and attitude will
affect the managers’ approach to planning, organizing, and leading and controlling which in turn
will affect what job any individual will get in the workplace and how they are evaluated. This
can have significant impact in environmental analysis, employee preference for job design and
enrichment and taking up the leading role. If these are favorable for the employees then they will
perform better in the workplace as they will have more chance of being successful and career
growth (Carpenter, Bauer & Erdogan, n.d.).
Let us have a research question and have the answer.
Research Question
What factors affect the purchase intention of customer in case of organic foods?
Descriptive study through the descriptive research design will be done in this case as we are
looking in to what factors affect the purchase intention
The independent and dependent variables would be: (Aertsens, Verbeke, Mondelaers & Van
Huylenbroeck, 2009)

Independent variable= health consciousness, consumer knowledge, personal and subjective

norms
Dependent variable= purchase intention
Based on these variables the hypothesis would be set as:
H1: There is significant relationship between health consciousness and purchase intention of
organic food
H2: There is significant relationship between consumer knowledge and purchase intention of
organic food
H3: there is significant relationship between personal & subjective norms and purchase intention
of organic food.
The moderating variable would be the perception of the individual consumers.
The sample would be those consumers who use the organic products.
In case the hypothesis is failed I would say that those factors would not affect the purchase
intention of the consumer.

Hi Julena,
Thankyou for finding it interesting. Your hypothesis looks fine to me also.i don't work in the
food industry but has been recently shifting myself to organic foods so found this interesting.

Hi Telecia,
I found your example quite interesting. The relationship between negotiation skill and salary
demands not only depends on negotiation skills but also the level of skill an individual employee
has.How about including personalities, values and attitudes in moderating variables (Carpenter,
Bauer & Erdogan, n.d.).

Hi Stanley,
Your research topic is interesting in terms of a lot of debate being done in this topic lately. the
interesting part would be the moderating variable in this situation. could moderating variables be
the workload in the office. Experimentation would result in accurate results but how will other
moderating variables like personal life issues be addressed during the experimentation.
