MODULE 2 - Activity 1
Title: Ecological Ecosystem (1 pt) Come up a witty title for your ecosystem

Description: (2tps)

What are the biotic and abiotic factors found in your ecosystem?

Biotic Abiotic

Humans, insects, wild animals, birds, bacteria, Soil, rainfall, humidity, temperature, pH, climate,
plants.

COMMUNITIES: (1 pt) Briefly describe the (1 pt) Crop a part of your ecosystem photo showing
communities present in your ecosystem. the community present. Same as how the
communities are presented on page 3, Module 2.
Lives on a property that was once a marsh and a
forest. Lived among tamed and wild animals, as
well as plants, flowers, and a garden. The
majority of the land is used for agriculture as a
primary source of income. Grass, animals, and
plants are not only living, but they are also
sensitive and, in some ways, conscious..

POPULATIONS: (1 pt) Briefly describe the (1 pt) Crop a part of your ecosystem photo showing
populations present in your ecosystem. the population present. Same as how the population
is presented on page 3, Module 2.
Coexistence is helping humans share the
environment with animals and utilizing new
solutions to prevent conflicts that often arise with
wildlife in their natural habitat in our community
because we have no neighboring neighbors.

organism present in your ecosystem. an organism present. Same as how the organisms
are presented on page 3, Module 2.
Cows, sheep, goats, and chickens are examples
of livestock animals that play a variety of roles in
the farm ecosystem as a whole. Earthworms,
pollinators, spiders, and a variety of other
creatures are also present.

Which level of consumers gains the lowest percentage of the sun’s original energy input per organism
consumed? Why? (5 pts)
Each tropic level in the food chain contains just 10% of the energy in the level below it that
sustains that tropic level. The trophic level representing producers (plants) has the greatest
energy since the sun is the source of energy. Because energy is lost as metabolic heat when
animals from one trophic level are devoured by organisms from the next, energy diminishes as it
goes up trophic levels. The quantity of energy transmitted between trophic levels is measured by
trophic level transfer efficiency (TLTE). As a result, main consumers receive around 10% of the
energy generated by autotrophs, compared to 1% for secondary consumers and 0.1 percent for
tertiary consumers. This indicates that the highest consumer in a food chain receives the least
energy, as much of the energy in the food chain is lost between trophic levels. The greatest
energy is found in the first trophic level of the food chain. The producers, which are all
photosynthetic creatures, are found at this level. As a result, herbivores and detritivores
(secondary consumers) and carnivores who eat other carnivores (tertiary consumers) have the
least amount of energy available to them.
