D. E. Shaw Renewable Investments (“DESRI”) develops, acquires, builds,


owns, and operates solar and wind renewable energy generation facilities in
the U.S.A. DESRI currently owns, operates, or has an exclusivity agreement
or signed purchase and sale agreement in place with respect to more than 5.9
GW of solar and wind assets in the U.S. across 73 projects. Headquartered in
New York, DESRI is run by a dynamic team, with offices located in Boston,
Denver, and Hyderabad (India).

We are looking for a resourceful candidate to join our DESRI group based in
the firm’s office in Hyderabad, India. The candidate will be part of DESRI’s
Acquisitions and Finance team and will regularly interact with U.S. and
Hyderabad-based teams.

WHAT YOU’LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:

You’ll be required to undertake research assignments related to U.S. renewable


markets with a focus on financing markets, equipment pricing, competitor
analysis, new markets, interconnection positions, new technology, and several
other focus areas related to the renewables sector. You’ll be expected to
identify and synthesize key information from publicly available resources such
as state and federal utility proceedings, paid subscriptions, and internal
research database. You’ll also work on management reports outlining some of
the key indicators.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:


- Candidates holding an MBA (finance) or comparable qualification with
zero to two years of experience
- The ideal candidate should have excellent understanding on research
process and familiarity with different sources of databases such as
Bloomberg, Capital IQ, etc.
- Candidates who have robust understanding of various valuation
techniques and also have fair knowledge on building financial models
- The candidate should have excellent written communication skills and
report-writing capabilities
