The area is great for the bench shots, it’s a hidden area of harris gardens so there shouldn’t be
many disruptions. Hopefully the trees should block out wind acting as a muffler.

Lighting Information: Solutions:

- Natural lighting will help, making the
scenes look realistic
- Weather may disrupt the natural lighting
- Check weather before so I can plan around the
cloudy/rainy days
- Bring battery powered lights to create dramatic
scenes
- Use bounces to enhance sun light

Sound Information: Solutions:

- Wind may affect the audio - When I am filming try and time when to film
- .The wildlife may also be noisy and disrupt depending what is going on around us at the time
dialogue
- There could be distant noise from cars,
people and planes

EXT. PARK BENCH - MORNING

The opening credits begin over black. We hear the sketching

of a pencil in the background. It then cuts to a shot of V on
the bench with paper in her hand and drawing. Ollie goes past
the bench and looks at V, she looks at him but quickly looks
back down at her drawing. V looks over at Ollie after he goes
past. V packs her stuff and leaves in the opposite direction to
Ollie, and we see the title appear over the bench. . .

MILESTONES

On the way out V passes Ed and Ruby, the camera

moves to their perspective and we listen in on the
conversation

RUBY

Ed come on, everyone's going.

ED

Yeah I know but I don't care who's going I can’t

be asked.

RUBY

(Condescending)

Okay sure, whatever you say Ed.

ED

What? It’s just going to be a competition on who

can get with who, oh and don’t get me started on
the amount of annoying drunk girls there’ll be.

Ruby looks over at Ed.

RUBY

Seriously, I think a little competition is all you

need.

ED

Trust me I don’t need anything, I am perfectly

content with my life.

Ruby stops to talk so Ed follows her direcion.

RUBY

(Serious)

Oh really, so not even a little kiss would

make you a little happier?

ED

No Ruby, but maybe if you finally kissed

someone you wouldn’t be so focused on

Everyone else's love life.

Ed walks away from Ruby, leaving her standing there and

watching him.

RUBY

Hey!

Ruby storms off after him.

EXT. OUTSIDE V’S HOUSE - MIDAY

V is walking home from being at the park, she sees that

ollie is waiting outside her house, so tries to walk to
her front door without him noticing. Ollie grabs her
arm to make her stop and have a conversation.
V
Ollie leave me alone.

She pulls away

OLLIE

Please V, can we talk?

V
Fine.

They sit down on the side of the road, V doesn’t

look at Ollie but he keeps his eyes on her.
OLLIE
V look, I never meant to hurt you.

V
I don’t care anymore, I know where I
stand now.

Ollie looks at her but has nothing to say, he puts his head
down in disappointment.

Lets just pretend none of this ever

happened, let's go back to last summer
when we didn’t know each other. Okay?

V gets up and walks away, leaving Ollie disappointed sitting

on the floor.

EXT. HOUSE PARTY, PARK BENCH - EVENING

V is sitting on the bench, this time not doing

anything but looking up to the sky and thinking.
Deep in thought when Ruby approaches.

RUBY

Hey V.

V
Hey.

RUBY
(sarcastic)

So, fun party?

(sarcastic)
Yep, great party.

RUBY

I know this isn’t really my place,

but, is everything okay with you and
Ollie?

(visibly angry)
No it’s not your place is it?

RUBY

Right.

Ruby get’s up and starts to walk away.

Wait!

Ruby stops and turns back around.

Sorry, it’s just been

A difficult week.

Ruby sits back down the bench, a little close to V now

ready to comfort her.

RUBY

Ok so tell me.

I told him that I got into uni.

RUBY
Already! Where too?

Edinborough.

RUBY

That’s really impressive.

Thanks, but Ollie didn’t think so.

He got really angry about how far it
Is, how I’m going to be leaving him
and he gave me the choice of going
somewhere closer or he’d break up
with me there and then.

RUBY

Oh right. He really gave you a

choice?

Yep.
They sit in silence for a few seconds as
Ruby decides how best to support V.

I’m tired of it. Why do I have to

sacrifice my career just so we can
stay together, you’d think if he
really loved me and cared then he
would be supportive no matter what.

RUBY

I understand, but I think he’s just

Scared.

(chuckle)
Ha of what?

RUBY

Losing you. If you're moving far

away he probably feels like it’s
already over. Maybe he thinks you
chose it for a reason.

Of course I didn’t, I wouldn’t do

that to him.

RUBY

Well go tell him that then.

V looks over at Ruby in disbelief.

Oh so your sitting on this stupid

bench because the parties that fun
are you? V come on, you clearly want
to be with him, so go tell him that.

V smiles at Ruby and gets up from the bench.

Fine, but if I’m not back here in 20

minutes just know it probably didn’t
go well.

As V walks away a tipsy Ed walks towards the bench as he

sees Ruby.

EXT. HOUSE PARTY - EVENING

Outside the house party Ed is waiting around for Ruby

when Ollie decides to approach him.
OLLIE

Hey it’s Ed right?

Ed looks up surprised at Ollie.

ED

Ahh yeh.

Ed is clearly confused why Ollie is speaking to him

but engages in the conversation.

OLLIE

Your going into the

party right?

ED

Yeh I plan too. You here

with V?

OLLIE

Uhhh that’s a bit of a

sticky one.

ED

Oh right.

OLLIE

Yeh I don’t really know

what to do.

ED

What do you mean?

OLLIE

She’s gonna be moving

really far away and only told
me yesterday. I just don’t
get why she has to go to uni

that far, she could go

somewhere closer, we wouldn’t
have to do long distance and
everything would be fine, but
no she has to go ruin it all.

ED

Seriously?

OLLIE

What?

ED

You really think that her

going to uni is the end of
it all?

OLLIE
No, but why wouldn’t she
talk about it with me, you
think that’s something we
would have a serious
conversation about it.

ED

Well did you even try to

have a conversation about
it?

OLLIE

Not really.

ED

Maybe you should try?

OLLIE

Yeh I know ok, I did try

earlier but she didn’t want
to talk to me, I think I

really upset her because I

got so angry.

ED

She probably needs some

time, especially if you
upset her as much as I can
imagine you did.

OLLIE

Come on, I’m not that bad.

ED

I know what you and your

friends are like, you were
probably harsher than you
realise.

OLLIE
Oh right, I’m sorry about
that, to be honest it was
only recently I realised
how messed up everything
was last year.

ED

Yeh it wasn’t great but at

least you realised I guess.

OLLIE

Yeh maybe a bit too late

but if it wasn’t for V I’m
not sure if I ever would
have.

ED

It definitely doesn’t seem

worth losing her over this.

No it’s really not.

EXT. HOUSE PARTY - EVENING

ED

Hey Ruby. What’s going on with

you?

RUBY
What do you want.

ED

Oh no, nothing in particular.

RUBY

Right.

ED

Well I may have heard a little

Rumor that you kissed Jake colham.

Ruby stares Ed.

Would this have anything to do

with what I said earlier?

RUBY

Seriously?
She laughs.
Ok it might have gotten to me
a little bit.

ED

Sorry, I didn’t think you cared that much

RUBY

Well neither did I until I was in there and

it was like you said, everyone trying to get with each other
and I just felt the pressure. So yeah I did kiss him.

ED

Oh I didn’t know there was that much

pressure for girls.

RUBY

Well how would you know, you’ve never

really been interested in that world.

ED

Interested in that world?

He laughs
RUBY

You know what I mean but yes there is still

a lot of pressure and I thought that getting it done and
over with would take it all away but now I just feel weird

ED

The thing is, because of media we

believe that our first kiss is
meant to
be this magical thing, a milestone
that we all have to achieve to have
a successful life.

They both laugh.

But really it’s never going to be
like that and it’s okay to feel
weird about it.

RUBY

When did you get so wise?

ED

I don’t know but I’ve been giving a

lot of advise today, you’ll never guess who I
spoke to earlier about his relationship.

RUBY

Ollie?

ED

How did you know?

RUBY

I spoke to V.

ED

Oh, look at us fixing relationships.

Ollie and V walk towards the bench holding hands.

RUBY

Well it looks like what we said

worked.

Hey guys.

Ollie and V sit down on the bench.

ED

So, is everything good with you guys?

OLLIE

Yep everything is great, thanks guys.

They all smile at each other as the camera fades away leaving
them happily sitting together.
