most common method is by recycling, for about 25% of total waste products, and the least common way
are by incineration, which disposes the remaining 20% of total waste products. United Kingdom uses
more various methods of dealing with dangerous waste products. Dangerous waste products are most
often buried underground in United Kingdom, about 82% of total waste products are buried
underground. The least common method to dispose dangerous waste product in UK is by incineration,
about 2% of total waste product. The remaining waste is treated by chemical treatment and by dumping
them at the sea, each accounts for 8% of total dangerous waste products treatment method.

Writing Task 2

Traffic accidents are one of the most common causes of death for people who are living especially in
busy urban area. Most traffic accidents are associated with driving offences, such as speeding, driving
under influence, improper driving attributes, and et cetera. This common occurrence leads to some
people who believe that strict punishments are needed for driving offenders in order to reduce traffic
accidents. However, some people also believe that instead of giving punishment, other measures would
suffice and will be more effective in improving road safety.

Driving offences are very common to happen in real life, in fact, it’s one of the most common crime in
the modern society. The driving offenders, however, are usually given a fair warning for minor offences,
and mostly, they get away with light punishments and fines. Some people think that kinds of
punishments are thought to be too lenient for them, and it doesn’t make them regret the offences that
they have done. The punishments will have to be more severe, especially for the offences that have
more probability to cause traffic accidents, to remind them of their guilt and making them feel
remorseful, so they will not repeat the same mistake again. For example, for those who are guilty of
speeding or driving under the influence, instead of fining the offenders, it would be better for them to
serve a short jail time, and for those who are texting while driving, instead of fair warning, it would be
better for them to be fined.

However, other people that believe that other measures would prove to be useful and more effectively
improving road safety stated that traffic accidents aren’t only caused by only one factor. Aside from the
driver, the weather, for example, also play a big role in causing traffic accidents. Foggy weather,
especially, is more prone to causing traffic accidents. This can be avoided by the local government
providing warning for foggy weather in the area to alert the driver so they can be more focused when
driving. And in the winter, the meteorological office can alert the areas that are affected by the snowfall
so the drivers can bring the proper equipment for driving. The road conditions are another factor,
especially the road that is dimly lit, and the road that has a lot of holes, which can cause many accidents.
The local authority will have to provide the road with safety equipment for the driver, such as providing
lamps and reflectors for the road that’s tend to be dark in the night, repairing the holes in the road so
it’s safe for the driver to pass through, and providing safety bumpers, especially for the roads that are
located besides a canyon or those that have sharp turns on it.

It’s important that we understand that most traffic accidents are not only caused by one factor, and
giving stricter punishment doesn’t always address the main root cause of the traffic accidents. Other
measures such as providing better road equipment, and providing better driving lesson will be more
useful to the driving offenders instead of punishing them. Also, by analyzing the main cause of the traffic
accidents, we can implement a better strategy to improve road safety, hence, reducing the traffic
accidents.
