1 Function
This unit is used to apply a 2 Mbit/s signal to a duplicated transmission path : selection of
the transmission path can be realized manually (local or remote command) or
automatically according to the detected alarms on each path.

3 Front side indicators and switches


 Leds
 PW : green LED is on when power (+5V) is present
 LOSTX : red LED is on when there is a signal loss
 AIS-I : yellow LED is on when link I is transmitting
 LOS-I : red LED is on when there is a signal loss on link I
 I-SEL : green LED is on when link I is in service
 II-SEL : green LED is on when link II is in service
 AIS-II : yellow LED is on when link II is transmitting
 LOS-II : red LED is on when there is a signal loss on link II.
 Switches
 MANUAL 3 position switch :
 upper position (unlocked) : switch-over from II to I
 middle position (locked) : neutral
 lower position (unlocked) : switch-over from I to II

5 Strap options
The PBA-APS board contains several jumpers and slide switches providing the following
operational options.
 slide switches
 Link I , link II & G.703 input / output impedance selection 75 or 120 Ohm. All
switches has to be in the same position (75 or 120 Ohm).
