POLICY
All takeaway food & beverage must be packaged appropriately and presented professionally. The
temperature of the food is critical to prevent any potential food poisoning claims.
This policy is applicable to Ibis hotels offering a Grab and Go menu concept and resorts which allow food to be
packaged and eaten outside in the grounds of the resort.
PROCEDURE
• The order taker will act as the one point of contact for all takeaway orders of food & beverage.
• Any hotels offering packaged food for consumption outside of standard hotel dining options
• (i.e. restaurant, bar and room) must have a hotel specific policy.
• Any food or beverages being served take-away style must include the appropriate condiments and good
quality, single use utensils for the number of diners. Items may include: napkin, straw, knife, fork and spoon,
cup, salt and pepper).
• All food products are packed and delivered in compliance with food and health regulations, including
HACCP or food safety guidelines.
• Any specially prepared dishes for dietary requirements or religious restrictions are to be clearly labelled.

• Guests requesting takeaway items must be informed of the relevant health and safety requirements,
including the timeframe to consume the items and any specifications. The hotel is not able to guarantee the shelf
life of packed food and beverage.
• If a guest insists on speciality items that are not on the menu for takeaway, the Chef is to be consulted
regarding feasibility and pricing.
