Course Material Distribution System

Abstract:
Course Management Distribution System provides a simple
interface for the students of a university or a college to download the
study material of a particular subject of their course. In the existing
system, the material is provided by the teacher during class. Therefore, a
lot of time will be wasted and a lot of manual efforts are required. These
problems will be solved by the proposed model. Firstly, the students and
the faculty will be enrolled in the system by admin and are provided
with a username and a password. There are dashboards for both the
students and the faculty. If the faculty wants to upload the file for a
particular subject, he has to log on to his dashboard and select the
course, year and the subject to which the file has to be uploaded. He can
then upload the file. The faculty can also delete the files (material) of a
particular subject when it’s no more used. Similarly, if a student wants
the material of a subject of his/her course, one has to log on to system
and then can download the material that he/she wishes to download. As
the material is provided online, it is easier for both students and
teachers as it reduces the manual effort.
Introduction:
In various universities including IGNOU, dispatches material required for
various courses after the affirmation are sent to students. The student
data is provided including name, address as well as the course material
to be dispatched to the student. Each course comprises of a set number
of booklets, which are by and large pressed together before dispatch.
Booklet Stock is maintained independently, as they are printed
independently. On getting a new request for dispatch, first it is checked
if all the course material to be dispatched to the student is available in
stock. Each one of those courses, for which all the booklets of course are
in stock, the material is dispatched instantly. Rest of the information is
moved to pending stack of course pending database. As soon as new
stock is printed and delivered, the inventory stock is updated, the
dispatch is made first to the pending cases. Use suitable information
structure/database to make this framework.
Existing system:
The choice was made to build a two-level logical structure, with a
generic Nucleus at the lowest level and almost autonomous subsystems
providing applications with traditional operating system services.
Therefore, the CHORUS Nucleus is not the core of a specific operating
system, rather it provides generic tools designed to support a variety of
host subsystems, which can co-exist on top of the Nucleus. This
structure supports application programs, which already run on an
existing operating system, by reproducing the operating system’s
interfaces within a subsystem. An example of this approach is given
using a UNIX emulation environment called CHORUS/MiX. The classic
idea of separating the functions of an operating system into groups of
services provided by autonomous servers is central to the CHORUS
philosophy. In monolithic systems, these functions are usually part of
the ‘‘kernel’’. This separation of functions increases modularity, and
therefore the portability of the overall system.

Proposed system:
It becomes a critical issue when those systems are intended to support
collaboration between humans. A large volume of research has already
been published on the subject of naming, particularly within the context
of name servers and directories. However, it can be argued that the
hierarchical nature of many of the naming mechanisms so far proposed
is too constraining to fully support the great flexibility of human naming
practice, particularly where group work is concerned.
System requirements:
Hardware Requirements:

System : Pentium IV 2.4 GHz.

Hard Disk : 150 GB.
Monitor : 15 VGA Colour.
Mouse : Logitech.
RAM : 2GB Mb.

Software Requirements:

Operating system : - Windows.

Front End : - ASP.NET
Database : - MS SQL
Tools :-IIS

Advantages:
The system is very effective and convenient to use.
It reduces the use of manpower to a great extent.
It produces an overall statistics of the inventories so that it can be
further used in future for analysis purpose.
The system is secured and gives only authorized access.
It saves cost and time.
Disadvantages:
As it reduces human efforts, it reduces employment.

Modules:
Admin Login: The system will be under sole control of an admin. Admin
can add or remove resources from the system and can even maintain a
record of the resources available, supplied and demanded.
Product data input: User can enter details about the product like
product name, delivery dates and all other required information.
Product data maintenance: The system manages and arranges the data
automatically into proper format as required by the organization.
Product data search and reports: The system generates reports about
the total products supplied and delivered for expected period according
to user's need that can be used for future reference.
Conclusion:
Multimedia data such as audio and video streams have started to be
incorporated into mission-critical scenarios such as medical applications
and digital television studios. Because of the enrichment they bring to
application content we believe that this trend will continue and more
and more mission critical applications will begin to incorporate
multimedia data. In these scenarios the quality of the media being
presented is important and resources have to be properly allocated and
scheduled in order to preserve this quality. Furthermore, there is a
requirement for applications to be modifiable while they run, while still
meeting their Quality of Service (QoS) constraints.
