Problem Statement # 01: Citizen Care Systems

Develop a design for the centralized software system which serves to the citizen in the country.
I should help the citizen to interact with the government without any interruption. Based on
Election Card each and every citizen will have the access in this portal. This is an Web
Application. They can avail government facilities like, Senior citizen’s concession in Railways,
Government Hospital appointments; Medical scheme approved by government, Ration Card
details, LPG Booking, and it allows the citizen to send petitions to the collector or to the
concern authorities. It provides the reference number to citizen for the each and every
complaint or any suggestions, which will help to track the concern information. Develop the
scenario in detail..!

Problem Statement # 02: E-Vote

This is a web application for voting through internet for the nominees/parties. Social Security
Number is used as a primary key and will integrate with the biometric device for thumb
impression. The citizen will login in the E-vote website with the help of SSN as user and
password (generated by the citizen in the first login) and in the next level the system will ask
for the thump impression through the biometric device. If both get matched or satisfies the
condition next navigation is for “Voting”. Based on the details stored “Voting” form will be
displayed. So they cannot vote for any other areas. This software is published in the internet
but accessed only the KIOSK available in each and every polling area. This software is
integrated with the citizen details like, name, dob, parent’s name, children, married/unmarried,
SSN, and some details which will be uploaded the VAO about the citizen like disability, death
etc (some confidential data). Because this will lock the voting option for the citizens who were
expired, of course it will lock the user the login. Nobody can misuse the login..!

Problem statement # 03: Payroll Management

As the head of Information Technology at AllTech, Inc., you are tasked with building a new
payroll system to replace the existing system that is hopelessly out of date. AllTech needs a
new system to allow employees to record time card information electronically and
automatically generate pay checks based on the number of hours worked. The new system will
be state of the art and will have a Windows-based desktop interface to allow employees to enter
timecard information, enter purchase orders, change employee preferences (such as payment
method), and create various reports. The system will run on individual employee desktops
throughout the entire company. The system must pay each employee the correct amount, on
time, by the method that they specify (see possible payment methods described later). AllTech,
for cost reasons, does not want to replace one of their legacy databases, the Project
Management Database, which contains all information regarding projects and charge numbers.
Some employees work by the hour and they are paid an hourly rate. They submit timecards
that record the date and number of hours worked for a particular charge number. If someone
works for more than 8 hours, AllTech pays them 1.5 times their normal rate for those extra
hours. Hourly workers are paid every Friday. Some employees are paid a flat salary. Even
though they are paid a flat salary, they submit timecards that record the date and hours worked.
This is so the system can keep track of the hours worked against particular charge numbers
.Some of the salaried employees also receive a commission based on their sales. They submit
purchase orders that reflect the date and amount of the sale. The commission rate is determined
for each employee, and is one of 10%, 15%, 25%, or 35%.One of the most requested features
of the new system is employee reporting. Employees will be able to query the system for
number of hours worked, totals of all hours billed to a billed to a project (i.e., charge number),
total pay received year-to-date, remaining vacation time, etc.

Problem statement # 04: Network Monitoring System

Network monitoring takes note of slow or failing systems and notifies the network
administrator of such occurrences. Such notifications can take the form of email messages,
pager alerts, or plain old phone calls. No matter what form they take, network problem
messages should take the highest priority. Network monitoring can alert a network
administrator to problems caused by overloaded systems, crashed servers, lost network
connections, virus or malware infections, and power outages, among other things. Also
network monitoring software makes a practice of regularly taking virtual snapshots of the
network’s workflow. Any irregularities in this workflow are logged and, if they are serious
enough, reported to the network administrator. Network monitoring can also be as basic as
tracking the flow of visitors to and from a website, also tracking such statistics as time of visit,
number of pages on the site visited, and entry and exit URLs. Website network monitoring
software tracks and reports web activity for analysis.

Problem statement # 06: Courseware Management System

Design elements for a system that can be used to manage coursees/classes for an organization
that specializes in providing training. Let us name the system that we will be designing as the
Courseware Management System. The organization offers a variety of courses in a variety of
areas such as learning management techniques and understanding different software languages
and technologies. Each course is made up of a set of topics. Tutors in the organization are
assigned courses to teach according to the area that they specialize in and their availability. The
organization publishes and maintains a calendar of the different courses and the assigned tutors
every year. There is a group of course administrators in the organization who manage the
courses including course content, assign courses to tutors, and define the course schedule. The
training organization aims to use the Courseware Management System to get a better control
and visibility to the management of courses as also to streamline the process of generating and
managing the schedule of the different courses.
