Colburn Wildlife Area (Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR))
4,965 acre property located in north-central Adams County. Access points are off
County Highways C and G and Chicago Avenue.

A class 1 trout stream, upstream of County Hwy W (Town of Leola on Archer Drive).

Castle Rock Lake Dike (Wisconsin River Power Company)
Selected portions of the dike are open to public use for fishing, hiking, and nature

Central Wisconsin Grassland Conservation Area (Wisconsin DNR)
Stretches in an "S" shape from southeastern Taylor County, through parts of Clark
and Marathon counties, between Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids and south to

Dells of the Wisconsin River (Wisconsin DNR)
Encompasses over 5 miles of Wisconsin River corridor with a spectacular gorge,
cliffs, tributary canyons, and rock formations carved into Cambrian sandstone.

Lake Petenwell Dike Trail (Wisconsin River Power Company)

Quincy Bluffs State Natural Area (Wisconsin DNR)
Multiple access points. Wetlands, rock formations, sand prairie and forest offer a
beautiful scenery to take in.

Roche-A-Cri State Park (Wisconsin DNR)
Hiking trails and a stairway to the top of the mound. Native American petroglyphs
can also be viewed. State Park pass is required.

Sand Valley Golf Resort
The trails feature expansive sand blowouts, red pine plantations, and majestic oak
savannahs. Take notice of the many birdboxes along the way!

Sohlberg Silver Lake State Natural Area (Wisconsin DNR)
A short walking trail to Silver Lake. Access from the intersection of State HWY 13
and County Rd M in Adams, head south on State HWY 13 1.9 miles, then west on
County F for 4.8 miles, then south on 18th Ave 2.1 miles. Park at the end of the
road.

Van Kuren Trail (Wisconsin River Power Company)
The route travels through a variety of different habitat types and passes an
existing wildlife observation tower, where hikers and skiers can take a break.

Town of Rome Bicycle Trails
The Discover Rome Area Family Trails (DRAFT) has create a few bicycle trails in the
Rome area. The trails are published on the smartphone app, "Trail Treker" (fee
required to download app). DRAFT also hosts family bike rides throughout the year.

South Central Alliance for Tobacco Prevention
Serves Adams, Juneau and Sauk Counties by working to prevent commercial
tobacco use among youth, eliminate secondhand smoke/aerosol and support
local/state policies that encourage tobacco prevention. Meetings held regularly.

Women, Infant and Children (WIC) and Fit Families
Provides nutrition education, breastfeeding support, access to health
professionals and other community services as well as healthy foods. You may
qualify for WIC if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have had a baby in the past 6
months or have children under the age of 5 and meet the income guidelines.
Fit Families Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed) is a
successful behavior change program for families of 2-4 year olds. Fit Families
coaches empower families to adopt healthy eating and physical activity behaviors.

Kid's Day (Adams County Health & Human Services Department)
Typically held in the Spring. Geared towards toddlers-5th grade. Booths on
physical activity and nutrition and general health in addition to crafts, games and
entertainment.

Ladies' Night Out (Gundersen Moundview Hospital & Clinics)
Held on the first Thursday in November. Includes dinner, presentations, raffles and
vendors including health and wellness information on a variety of topics.

Mini Mudder Mile (Tri-Norse)
Held in June each year. Brave obstacles and mud in the mile-long course in the
shadows of the Tri-Norse Ski Jumps. Course open for ages 4-15.
