FADE IN:

WE FLY THROUGH A SERIES OF LANDSCAPES: OFFICE SPACES,

PARKING LOTS, WAREHOUSES, SEWERS.

All empty. Abandoned. Eerie and yet it somehow feels like

we've seen all these places before.

RADIO HOST(V.O.)
-and this is the third one in the
past two months. We have been told
investigations are taking place.

The camera moves FASTER and FASTER until these landscapes

all begin to blur together. STATIC is heard in the
background.

RADIO HOST(V.O.)
But if I've learned anything from
that true crime podcast I've been
listening to; the longer we go
without finding a suspect the more
likely it is that these
disappearances will continue and
the less likely it is that a
suspect will be found.

Faster, faster until . . .

INT. CAR - NIGHT

The car radio is on and a news broadcast is playing.

RADIO HOST(V.O.)
It makes me think that there's
something being overlooked. Maybe
if they took a look at the trends
in some cold cases in the area it
would lead them to a connection.
There have been-

ANDI
Would you mind if we turn off the
radio?

ANDI (20 years old, pragmatic, still dresses like she's in

high school) is sitting in the backseat of an Uber. The
driver looks at her through the rear view mirror and
aggresively FLIPS the radio off.

Andi points to an APARTMENT BUILDING out the window.

ANDI
(re: her destination)
It'll be up here on the left.

CUT TO:

EXT. APARTMENT BUILDING - NIGHT

Andi's YELLOW HIGH TOP CONVERSE land solidly on the dirty

concrete. 'A+M 4ever' is scrawled on the sole. Andi SLAMS
the car door.

ANDI
Thank you! Sorry about all that.
Have a good night.

The Uber driver GLARES at her for a beat and then drives
off.

Andi walks towards the apartment building, BACKPACK slung

over one shoulder.

Her PHONE VIBRATES in her pocket. She takes it out to see a

TEXT from DOM that reads: "WHAT'S WITH YOU? YOU BETTER COME.
YOU NEVER DO ANYTHING FUN ANYMORE!"

The MUFFLED SOUNDS and lights of the party are seen in an

apartment up on the second floor.

She climbs the stairs and makes her way to the front door.

INT. SAMANTHA'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

She enters and is immediately surrounded by bodies and

LIGHTS. It's quite CLAUSTROPHOBIC.

She PUSHES her way past a couple making out in the hallway
and makes her way to the kitchen.

She is pouring a drink into a RED SOLO CUP when SAMANTHA (20
years old, sharp features, plucky) comes up behind her and
puts her hands around Andi's shoulders.
They have to speak pretty LOUDLY to be heard over the party.

SAMANTHA
Andi!

ANDI
Hi Sam!

SAMANTHA
You came! Dom told me he'd force
you to show and I said "I'll
believe it when I fucking see it"

ANDI
Dom didn't force me to do anything.
You know I love a Sam party.
SAMANTHA
Yeah but- What's with the backpack?

ANDI
Oh, I Uber-ed from my forensic
psych class so-

SAMANTHA
You can stash it in my room if you
want. I can't believe you have a
class this late at night.

Andi turns and LOOKS out at the party.

She scans the room looking for Dom. Samantha starts to make
a drink on the kitchen island.

SAMANTHA
When is it over? Like 9?

ANDI
9:30 actually. I got my fucking
registration date wrong and got
fucked for the entire semester.

SAMANTHA
I wish I was getting fucked for the
entire semester.

ANDI
I could ask Anthony for you. I'm
sure he'd be dying to-

SAMANTHA
(laughing)
Shut the fuck up.
(and then)
I'll never understand why you're
killing yourself with these
classes. You're literally going to
drive yourself to clinical
insanity.

ANDI
But then the forensic psych class
will come in handy! See, so it's-

SAMANTHA
Quit playing. I'm serious!

Andi gives Samantha a LOOK.

SAMANTHA
Look, you need to de-stress. I
invited that girl from our chem lab
last semester. The one you said was
cute. You should talk to her!
ANDI
I don't know Sam. Just because I
said she was cute-

SAMANTHA
I didn't say you have to marry the
girl! Talk to her, fuck her, date
her, whatever! Just promise me
you'll talk to her and that you
won't think about school for one
night. Deal?

Samantha PICKS up her drink and extends it out to Andi.

Andi reluctantly extends her own and they CHEERS to their

deal.

ANDI
Deal.

Sam grabs Andi by the shoulders again and spins her around,
pushing her towards the living room.

SAMANTHA
Ok now go put that-
(She gestures to Andi's
backpack)
in my room. There's no way that
you're getting laid at a party
wearing a backpack.

Andi rolls her eyes but she laughs. Sam pushes her and she
stumbles into the living room.

SAMANTHA
And when you see Dom let him know I
need to ask him about our
assignment for Econ!

Andi smiles and turns back.

ANDI
What happened to no thinking about
school?

Samantha SHRUGS and turns to talk to someone else in the

kitchen.

Andi takes a sip of her drink and makes her way through the
living room, heading towards the hallway leading to Sam's
bedroom.

She rounds a corner and sees DOM (20 years old, easy-going,
skater vibes) and his friend NOAH (24 years old, Skater
vibes but in a sleazy way) SHAKING HANDS.

Andi takes a step towards them but stops when she feels her
phone VIBRATE in her back pocket. She pulls it out and sees
that her MOM is CALLING her. She picks up.

ANDI
(yelling)
Mom?
 5.

Her mom's voice is MUFFLED over the LOUD PARTY MUSIC.

ANDI
What? Sorry I can't hear you mom.

ANDI'S MOM (V.O.)

(muffled, indistinct)
I just got off the phone with
Detective Taylor.

ANDI
What?

ANDI'S MOM (V.O.)

(muffled, indistinct)
They're closing your sister's case.

ANDI
Mom you have to speak up! I can't
hear you!

ANDI'S MOM (V.O.)

(clearly)
They're closing your sister's case!

Andi is SPEECHLESS.

ANDI'S MOM (V.O.)

I just got off the phone with
Detective Taylor. I'm sorry,
pumpkin.

Suddenly the party seems LOUDER. More overwhelming. She

CLUTCHES her backpack strap nervously.

The RED AND BLUE FLASHING LIGHTS of the party fade into
police lights.
EXT. PARK - CLOUDY AFTERNOON SEPTEMBER 18

The FLASHING police lights illuminate 16 year old Andi.

She sits on a park bench and DETECTIVE TAYLOR (50s,

heavyset, kind eyes) kneels beside her. A POLICE OFFICER is
standing over by ANDI'S MOTHER AND FATHER.

Her father is holding her mother solemnly as she CRIES.

Andi's face is empty and she stares straight ahead as the

police officer speaks to her indistinctly.

Andi CLENCHES her fist.

BACK TO:
INT. SAMANTHA'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

Andi CLENCHES her fist and takes a few deep breaths trying
to slow her POUNDING heart. She's angry.

She CHUGS her drink, turns and pushes her way across the
living room back towards the front door; crushing her red
solo cup and SLAMMING it into a trash can.

INT. SAMANTHA'S APARTMENT - A FEW MOMENTS EARLIER

Dom and Noah are talking in the hallway, on their way back
to joining the party in the living room.

NOAH
Is that all you need?

DOMINIC
Yeah...for now.

NOAH
For now? You told me that after I
told you-

DOMINIC
I changed my mind. I think I'm
gonna hold onto it for a while.(A
beat) We good?

He extends his hand, almost AGGRESIVELY. Noah is hesitant

but eventually takes his hand.

NOAH
(hushed)
I'm serious man. If that shit gets
out my life is over. What can I pay
you to give it to me?

Out of the corner of his eye Dom sees Andi as she turns and
walks towards the front door.

DOMINIC
I gotta go.

NOAH
No dude. C'mon!

Dom starts to PUSH his way through the crowd after Andi.

EXT. APARTMENT BUILDING - NIGHT

Andi is leaning against the balcony railing a few doors down

from the party, staring out at the night sky.

Dom EXITS Sam's apartment and looks around, eyes landing on

Andi.

DOMINIC
Hey what are you doing out here?
You didn't even say hi to me.

A beat. Andi is deciding whether or not to be honest.

ANDI
Yeah I just needed some air.

DOMINIC
You feeling ok?

ANDI
(roughly)
Yeah I'm fine.

She closes her eyes in frustration with herself.

DOMINIC
Well you don't sound fine.

Andi has made her choice, she turns towards him trying to
keep her facade in tact.

ANDI
Really Dom, it's nothing . . .
Besides I didn't want to interrupt
your conversation with Noah.

Dom sighs and crosses his arms.

DOMINIC
I'm not doing this again.

ANDI
Doing what again?

DOMINIC
Doing this thing where you act like
you don't hate all of my friends
when you obviously do. And then I
have to say "Ya know Andi, I can
make decisions for myself. I'm a
pretty good judge of character."
And then you say "What about that
one time you let your cousin borrow
your car senior year and he hit a
mailbox?" And then it turns into
another big fight and I'm just
tipsy enough right now that I don't
really want to deal with that.

ANDI
At least your cousin was sober when
he did it. And he was honest about
it. Let Noah borrow your car, see
what he ends up hitting.

Dom rubs his eyes with the palms of his hands, frustrated.
DOMINIC
Thank you for proving my point.
And, you don't have to be friends
with Noah. He's MY friend. But it
(MORE)

DOMINIC (cont'd)
shouldn't make you this fucking
angry just to see me talking to
him.

ANDI
I came out here for some air. It
has nothing to do with you.

DOMINIC
Well then tell me what it IS about.
You think I haven't noticed that
you've been weird lately? Starting
fights and shit? I thought inviting
you to this party would help but I
guess not.

When Dom mentions her acting weird Andi GRIPS her backpack
tighter. She looks guilty about something.

ANDI
I didn't ask you to follow me out
here Dom. And I didn't ask you to
invite me to this party.

DOMINIC
Fine. If you won't tell me what's
going on then at least come back
inside. Andi, please.

Dom feels like he's babysitting, frustrated that Andi won't

open up.

After a long beat of Andi IGNORING him, she turns and starts
to walk towards the stairs. Dom chases after her.

DOMINIC
Hey! Where are you going?

ANDI
Where does it look like I'm going?
I'm going home.

Dom follows Andi down the stairs.

Various people are smoking and talking on the steps and they
have to push past them.

DOMINIC
But didn't you Uber?

ANDI
Yeah and? I'll walk.
DOMINIC
It's a 20 minute drive back to
campus Andi. That's like 10 miles
or something. You can't walk home!

ANDI
Yes I can.

DOMINIC
Andi stop. No you can't. You've
heard about all the disappearances-

ANDI
(scoffs; incredulous)
Don't talk to me about how
dangerous disappearances are.

DOMINIC
Don't pull that card.

ANDI
Why do you fucking care Dom? Just
go have fun without me. Your little
boyfriend's waiting for you.

DOMINIC
Why do I care?!? Why are YOU being
such a bitch?

They reach the bottom of the stairs and Andi walks towards
the street.

Dom grabs her arm and whips her around to face him.

ANDI
If I'm such a bitch why are you
still following me?

DOMINIC
C'mon you're being ridiculous.

ANDI
No you just never fucking listen to
what I have to say so I'm going
home.

DOMINIC
That's never stopped you before.
(A beat.)
Just spit it out.

ANDI
(re: Noah)
I just thought you were better than
that.

DOMINIC
Better than what?
ANDI
Being friends with a fucking drug
dealer Dom! It's- it's not like
you.

Dom takes a DEEP, FRUSTRATED BREATH.

ANDI
See I knew you didn't want to hear
it.

She turns and continues walking away. Dom MAKES A CHOICE. He

follows her. He's PISSED.

DOMINIC
Well I guess you were wrong about
me. I'm such a horrible person for
not picking my friends based on
whether they smoke weed or not.

ANDI
You know this isn't about weed! I
don't give a fuck if you spend
every waking moment with fucking
Cheech and Chong. You know more
than most what perscription drugs
do to people.

DOMINIC
Don't. This is not about my mom.

A beat.

ANDI
You've changed. In highschool you
used to-

DOMINIC
Well we're not in highschool
anymore are we? God, you just can't
get over it.Yeah we both went
through shit. You're just going to
let this one little thing control
you're entire life forever?

Dom REALIZES what he's said.

ANDI
So my sister being kidnapped and
disappearing is a "little thing"? A
"little thing" that I just need to
"get over"?

She STARES AT HIM for a moment before she TURNS and starts
walking towards the street again with Dom in tow.

They eventually exit the apartment complex and walk on the

sidewalk.
DOMINIC
You know that's not what I meant.
Just come back to the party.
Please.

ANDI
No, I'm not in the mood anymore.

DOMINIC
Why did you even come to this party
if you're just gonna leave after 5
minutes?

ANDI
I came because you asked me to.

DOMINIC
Now you're gonna guilt trip me?
Really?

A beat. Neither of them know where to take the argument now.

They walk in silence.

ANDI
It's not guilt tripping if it's
true.

Dom doesn't say anything for a moment. He's THINKING.

DOMINIC
You know what And? I think I'm
done.

ANDI
Done? Done with what?

DOMINIC
With you. I - I don't think we
should be friends anymore.

Andi stops short, tense. Her eyes go WIDE with PANIC.

DOMINIC
Friends grow apart. Especially
highschool friends. You said it
yourself, I'm different from who I
was back then. We need a break from
each other.

Andi turns to LOOK AT HIM.

DOMINIC
I'm sorry. I just don't think- you
have to see how toxic this is.

ANDI
No, I can't talk about this right
now.
Andi turns abruptly and starts to cross the street to get
away from Dom.

DOMINIC
Andi, don't be like this.

ANDI
(Calling back over her
shoulder)
Call me when you're ready to talk
to me like an adult-

Out of nowhere a CAR blows through a stop sign and flies

around the corner towards Andi. Dom sees it first, and moves
towards her.

Andi turns, a deer in the headlights.

TIME SLOWS. Dom runs towards her, REACHING out.

DOMINIC (O.S)
Andi!

Dom's hand moves towards Andi's.

For a moment time is moving so slow that we don't know if he

will make it or not. But surely he can't push her out of the
way in time.

But his hand makes it.

The moment his fingertips GRASP hers, they DROP down through
the floor almost as though they clipped out of a video game
map.

SMASH

BLACKNESS

Dom and Andi FALL through darkness hand in hand.

The darkness transforms into the landscapes we saw earlier;

office spaces, parking lots, warehouses, sewers.
There are a few new ones. Most prominently, a park, a
pharmacy, a police precinct, and a computer lab.

They fall faster and faster through the landscapes until...

THUMP

TITLE CARD: LIMINAL

FADE TO:

INT. LEVEL 0 - TIME:UNKNOWN

DOMINIC (O.S)
Andi! Andi! Andi wake up!
His voice gets louder and louder as Andi regains
consciousness.

Andi slowly opens her eyes, squinting against harsh

fluorescent lights. The BUZZ OF ELECTRICITY is heard.

Dom is shaking her trying to wake her up.

She sits up, dazed.

ANDI
What happened?

Dom just shakes his head.

Dom PULLS Andi to her feet and they take in their

surroundings.

It looks like an ABANDONED OFFICE SPACE. The walls have

faded yellow wallpaper with a brown geometric pattern and
the floor is CARPETED. Andi's shoes SQUELCH under it. It's
WET.

Rooms are connected as far as their eyes can see but there
are NO DOORS OR WINDOWS.

SUPER: LEVEL 0 - THE LOBBY

ANDI
I don't- I- Where the fuck are we?

DOMINIC
(Annoyed)
You're acting like I would know.

She pulls out her phone. No signal.

She opens it and tries calling Samantha anyway.

SAMANTHA (V.O.)
Hey, it's Sammi. Hang up the phone
and just text me what you want!
Byeeee!
Straight to voicemail. Andi puts her phone away.

Meanwhile Dom is looking around intensly, analyzing.

DOMINIC
(re: the phone)
I tried that already.

ANDI
You couldn't have told me that
before I wasted battery? What's
with the wet carpet?

DOMINIC
I don't know but it smells like
shit.
A beat.

ANDI
Why do I feel like I've seen this
place before?

DOMINIC
That's a rhetorical question,
right?

Andi bends down and feels the carpet. She brings her finger
to her nose and RECOILS.

Dom was right. It smells like shit.

She stands.

ANDI
Ew. I can't believe I was laying in
that.

She SHUDDERS in disgust.

DOMINIC
Yeah no offense but I think we have
bigger problems than smelling like
wet carpet right now.

ANDI
Do you think we . . .

She fades off.

DOMINIC
What?

ANDI
Nothing. It's stupid.
DOMINIC
Just say it.

ANDI
Do you think we . . . died?

DOMINIC
(matter-of-factly)
No way.

He starts to walk towards the entrance of the next room.

Andi follows.

ANDI
It would kind of make sense though
right? The last thing I remember is
that car coming out of nowhere. And
then it felt like...

DOMINIC
Like skydiving through pudding.

ANDI
Not the way I would have phrased it
but yeah basically.

Dom is looking around almost frantically. He starts feeling

along the walls. Maybe for an exit.

DOMINIC
Nope. It's gotta be something else.
There's no way you followed me to
fucking hell to nag me.

ANDI
What makes you think it's hell.

DOMINIC
You're here, aren't you?

ANDI
Haha, very fucking funny dipshit.

DOMINIC
There's the nagging. There's gotta
be another explanation.

ANDI
Ok genius. I don't see you offering
up any brilliant ideas.

DOMINIC
All my ideas are brilliant ideas.

Dom stops feeling along the wall, he's trying to think.

ANDI
(Yelling)
Hello?! Anybody?!
Her and Dom look at each other. Begrudgingly they start to
walk together through the rooms, calling out.

SERIES OF SHOTS

A series of RAPID SHOTS showing the two wandering and

calling out if anyone is there.

All of the rooms are similar if not exactly the same.

It's clear time is passing, their voices get more and more
hopeless.

END SERIES OF SHOTS

They have given up on yelling and they wander in silence.

Dom looks over at Andi, deciding what to say.

DOMINIC
About the party-

ANDI
Dom, honestly I could give a shit
about who you hang out with right
now. We can talk about it later.

DOMINIC
Ouch. Harsh. But I wasn't talking
about Noah.

ANDI
You said it yourself, we've got
bigger things to worry about.
(and then)
But I don't feel like I've changed
THAT much.

DOMINIC
You haven't. You're still the same
Andi. But I'm not the same Dom.

Andi side-eyes him.

ANDI
Was the real reason you invited me
to that party was to friendship
break-up with me?

DOMINIC
Not really. I've been thinking
about it for a while but I was
waiting for the right time to bring
it up. And you just pissed me off
so I guess it just slipped out.

ANDI
It's this time of year. It always
gets to me. You know that.
Dom looks confused for a moment, then he realizes. It's late
September.

DOMINIC
Shit Andi. It's September isn't it?

ANDI
Of course it's fucking September.
What kind of stupid question is
that?

DOMINIC
I've been distracted with stuff.
Fuck, I should have noticed that it
was coming up.
ANDI
I'm glad you didn't.

DOMINIC
I - wait, why?

ANDI
C'mon. It's not like you forgot my
birthday.

DOMINIC
But I'm supposed to remember these
things as your friend. Things that
are important to you.

ANDI
It's honestly better if people
forget about it because then no one
looks at me like I'm about to have
a mental breakdown at any moment.

DOMINIC
I still should have remembered.

ANDI
You said it yourself, you were
distracted with other things. Plus,
according to you we're not friends
anymore so viola, no more needing
to remember Andi's traumatic
anniversaries.

Dom goes quiet.

ANDI
I hope you know that I don't feel
like I can control it. If I could
fucking get over it I would. Every
year, it's the same anger. It
swells up inside me until I just-
(and then)
I'm not like you.
DOMINIC
What's that supposed to mean?

ANDI
You don't let shit get to you.

DOMINIC
That's not true. Stuff gets to me.

ANDI
Like what?

DOMINIC
Like mom stuff. I've been thinking
about her a lot recently.

ANDI
But she's been doing good? She just
got her one year chip at NA, right?

DOMINIC
Yeah. She's - ah - she's doing
good...at the moment. I'm suprised
you remembered that.

ANDI
Yeah, well that's what friends do,
right?
(A beat)
You're way better at hiding these
things than I am.

DOMINIC
Sounds like someone's jealous.

ANDI
Shut the fuck up! As if.

DOMINIC
Yeah well I mean I don't blame you.
There's a lot to be jealous of. I'm
charming, funny, not to mention
incredibly handsome and-

ANDI
(laughing)
Yeah ok I get it.

OVERHEAD VIEW OF WHERE THEY ARE:

The two make their way across the frame.

They exit at the right of the frame and somehow walk back
into frame on the left. Entering the same room they just
left.

ANDI
All these rooms look the same. I
feel like we're right back where we
started.

DOMINIC
No way. We walked in a straight
line. If we just keep going we've
gotta reach a door or something
eventually.

Andi sighs, frustrated.

DOMINIC
Look, I don't know where we are but
it can't be that big of a place. I
say we split up.
ANDI
No fucking way.

DOMINIC
Why not?

ANDI
Have you never seen literally any
horror movie ever made? Splitting
up is always the worst idea.

DOMINIC
How would you know? You hate horror
movies.

ANDI
You've seen enough of them for the
both of us. Enough to see how bad
of an idea this is.

Dom starts to walk to the entrance to the room on the left.

Andi follows after Dom.

DOMINIC
Do you really think that this place
is that big? We've been yelling for
how long and we haven't seen or
heard literally anything.

ANDI
We don't know anything about this
place. We can't assume it's safe to
split up.

DOMINIC
But if we want to figure out where
we are, we gotta cover more ground.
I'll go this way, you go that way.

ANDI
Dom! Seriously!
Dom puts his hand on Andi's shoulder.

DOMINIC
You'll be fine! The faster we find
an exit the faster we get the fuck
out of here. Trust me.

ANDI
If I get fucking killed I will
haunt you forever and then you'll
wish you lived in a scary movie.

DOMINIC
(yelling over his
shoulder)
Then I guess it's a good thing that
you think we're already dead.
Dom turns and disappears around the corner into the next
room.

Andi slowly turns around and makes her way across the room
to the archway on the opposite side. She ENTERS.

Suddenly we are in the POV OF A HOUND watching Andi from

around the corner.

She checks her PHONE and lifts it up as high as she can.

Still no signal.

The hound GROWLS softly. Andi appears to have heard it.

She looks around for a moment, unsure.

ANDI
You're just being paranoid. There's
nothing here.

She turns left and goes towards the next room; going through
another entranceway.

The hound growls, ready to attack and-

SLAM

Dom slams into her from around the corner, GRABBING onto her
to keep his balance. Andi SCREAMS in suprise.

ANDI
Oh my fucking god Dom! What the
fuck?!

DOMINIC
Run! It's right-

Dom turns, as if there was something behind him. There's

nothing. He turns back to Andi after a beat.
DOMINIC
Oh thank god I found you. I was
starting to think -

Andi pushes him off of her.

ANDI
That's not fucking funny Dom! Stop
fucking with me.

DOMINIC
What are you talking about? I've
been screaming for you for hours.

ANDI
Seriously stop it. You can't go
like 30 seconds without messing
with me? Is this whole thing some
demented joke?

DOMINIC
Joke? How are you not freaked the
fuck out right now?

Andi pushes past Dom and cups her hands around her mouth to
yell.

ANDI
Ok you guys can come out now! Very
funny! Prank's over. (she turns
towards Dom)
How long did this take to set up?
No, how long have you been planning
this?

DOMINIC
You seriously think I made this
whole thing up just to what? Fuck
with you? You've got to be kidding
me.

ANDI
You distracted me with "I don't
think we should be friends anymore"
"Can't you see it's toxic?"
Bullshit! This is a new fucking low
Dom!

DOMINIC
Are you insane? What about the car?
We were both unconscious at one
point. You really think I would
knock you out just to pull a prank
on you?

ANDI
You tell me! I knew something was
up when you said you didn't want to
be friends anymore. This makes way
more sense now.

Dom pauses for a moment, slowly putting the pieces together.

He shakes his head.

DOMINIC
Wait how long has it been since we
decided to split up?

ANDI
First of all, I didn't want to
split up. You did. And I already
told you, it's been literally like
30 seconds. Why-
DOMINIC
Andi I'm not fucking lying to you!
Dead serious.

Something about Dom's face makes Andi STOP talking. His face
is overcome with an expression of OVERWHELMING RESIGNATION.

ANDI
You're not messing with me are you?

Dom shakes his head.

ANDI
And this isn't an elaborate prank.

FLASHBACK:

RAPID CUTS of Dom wandering and calling out for Andi in

various rooms.

DOMINIC (V.O.)
It's endless. Miles and miles of
the exact same shit. And it...

RAPID CUTS of Dom jogging through the maze and pacing with
his hands in is hair.

ANDI (V.O.)
Messes with you?

DOMINIC (V.O.)
Yeah like, makes you see things.
It's the lights. The buzzing. Must
be some kind of hypnosis or
something.

ANDI (V.O.)
So my theory about us being dead is
crazy but light-hypnosis induced
hallucinations isn't?

DOMINIC (V.O.)
Shut up. I'm being serious right
now.

Dom rounds a corner into another room. He is VISIBLY TIRED.

Jolting to a halt, he STARES at the DESK AND COMPUTER in the

center of the room in front of him.

As he hesitantly steps towards it, the screen LIGHTS UP.

Static at first, then showing security camera footage of a
HOSPITAL PHARMACY.

Dom rushes forward, noticing the USB FLASH DRIVE plugged

into the computer. He digs around in his pocket for a

moment, pulling out the exact same flash drive.

He looks back and forth from the drive in his hand to the
one plugged into the computer.

UNDEAD DOM (O.S.)

Look at what you did.

Dom WHIPS around and his own ROTTING CORPSE is standing in

front of him. MAGGOTS eat at his face.

Dom is PETRIFIED.

UNDEAD DOM
All that work, and in the end
she'll still die.

Undead Dom takes a step towards Dom. Dom takes one

backwards.

UNDEAD DOM
You're here and she dies, laying in
her own shit and vomit. And guess
what?

Undead Dom SMILES. His teeth are ROTTING and BROWN.

UNDEAD DOM
You'll die in...exactly...the
same....way.

Undead Dom opens his MOUTH. BLOOD and a mess of PRESCRIPTION

PILLS spills out.

STATIC from the computer disrupts the scene. Dom turns to

see an INFO-MERCIAL on screen. A mother and son SMILE into
the camera.
Dom turns back and his Undead self is RUSHING at him. Dom
scrambles to get away.

He rounds a corner and BAM. Runs right into Andi.

BACK TO SCENE:

ANDI
Dom? Hello?

Andi waves her hand in front of Dom's face. He was SPACING

OUT.

ANDI
Earth to Dom? What exactly did you
see that messed you up so much?

Dom SNAPS OUT OF IT.

It was nothing, really. It was
seriously only 30 seconds for you?

ANDI
A minute. Tops.

A beat.

DOMINIC
What the fuck is this place?

They share a CONTEMPLATIVE SILENCE.

ANDI
How long do you think we've been
gone. In the real world?

DOMINIC
Who knows? Hours? Days? No one will
probably notice we're gone for a
day or two.

ANDI
I was supposed to cover Cami's
shift tomorrow.

DOMINIC
And I was supposed to have lunch
with my mom.

Dom looks at the ground.

ANDI
Ok. Pouting isn't gonna get us
anywhere. You're the one that said
we need to cover more ground.
DOMINIC
What's the point? It's a maze-

ANDI
Well then let's conquer the maze.
Let's get out of here and then I
promise that you never have to see
me ever again. That's what you
wanted right?

Andi starts to walk away from Dom, who doesn't say anything.
She reaches into her backpack and pulls out a SHARPIE.

ANDI
I learned this in my philosphy
class last semester. It's called
the "wall-follower" method. You put
your hand on one wall and follow
that specific wall. Eventually
you'll touch every inch of the wall

Well if we never run into or
overlap the line we draw then that
means we are in a new area of the
maze aka not going in circles.

We're either going in circles or
it's an irregular maze which means
we're fucked.

DOMINIC
Great.

Andi starts DRAWING a LINE on the wall as she walks. Dom

follows.

INT. LEVEL 0 - SOME TIME LATER

Dom and Andi are standing in front of a wall.

It's clear some time has passed. Dom has shed his HOODIE and
tied it around his waist.

There obviously used to be a BODY propped against the wall.

The OUTLINE of a head and shoulders is surrounded by what

appears to be an explosion of BLACK MOLD that consumes the
entirety of the wall.

By where the figure's hand would have been there is an ARROW

on the wall as if this person smeared it with blood that has
since been consumed by the mold.

ANDI
This makes no sense.

DOMINIC
I mean I guess. Mold is attracted
to dead things right?

ANDI
I mean you're right but that's not
exactly what I'm talking about.
They stand in silence in front of the IMPRESSION. As if they
are absorbing the pain and the fear this person felt in
their last moments.

Andi knits her eyebrows together, like she's piecing

together a puzzle.

ANDI
Where's the body?

DOMINIC
I guessing the mold ate it.

ANDI
No. It would take months-no, years
for a body to decompose completely
like this. And the mold still looks
alive. What's it livving off of?
And still, where's the skeleton?

DOMINIC
Well, Forensic Files; time is
pretty weird here. Nothing about
this is normal.

ANDI
Skeletons don't just disappear.

DOMINIC
Maybe it got up and walked off
HalloweenTown style.

Andi completely ignores Dom's attempt to make light of the

situation.

She moves towards the IMPRESSION.

ANDI
I hope they weren't in pain.

Dom moves towards the figure to join Andi.

DOMINIC
I'm not so sure about that.

Dom points at what appears to be large CLAW MARKS etched

into the wallpaper where the person's stomach would have
been.

DOMINIC
There was some sort of creature in
here with them. Probably hunting
them.

ANDI
Obviously. But those claw marks
aren't like any I've ever seen.
They're too big.
DOMINIC
I wouldn't put it past this place
for there to be some sort of freaky
monster in here. Would you?

ANDI
No...but why would a creature leave
the body there like this? Unless...

DOMINIC
It just killed them for fun.

Dom looks around at each exit before stepping closer to

Andi.

ANDI
Do you think whatever did this
could still be here?

DOMINIC
I don't know. I hope not.

A beat. Andi, ever the optimist, stands up straighter and

puts on a brave face.

ANDI
Honestly maybe this is a good sign.

Dom looks back at her like 'are you crazy?'

DOMINIC
Exactly how is this a good sign? I
wouldn't really take a dead body-
or what's left of it- to mean that
good stuff is coming our way.

ANDI
Yeah but this means that other
people have been here. So at least
we're not in purgatory or hell or
whatever.
DOMINIC
No, all this means is other people
have died here. Which means that we
can die in here.

Andi points to the arrow smeared on the wall.

ANDI
Do you think they left that to use
as directions or as a warning?

DOMINIC
Your guess is as good as mine.
Personally, I'd take any
possibility of it pointing towards
an exit.
ANDI
Yeah, you're right.

They take a step back and move in the direction the arrow's
pointing to. Andi puts her Sharpie back to the wall.

Andi looks back one last time at the figure, still trying to
piece it together.

As they walk away we see a dark creature SHOOT across one of

the entranceways behind them.

They are being hunted.

SERIES OF SHOTS

1. Andi and Dom walking down a hallway. Not as well lit as

all the other rooms.

They look tiny among the tall ceilings.

2. They approach two walls with a tiny GAP between. Andi

looks through the gap.

They SQUEEZE themselves through the tight space sideways,

first Andi and then Dom.

3. Dom CLASPS his hand and boosts Andi up to a square

opening in a wall.

She pulls herself up and then turns around to help him.

4. Andi steps into a room, Dom follows. She looks to the

left.

PAN to reveal, the IMPRESSION. They are right back where

they started.

DOMINIC
(simulanteously)
Fuck!

ANDI
(simulanteously)
Shit!

INT. LEVEL 0 - SOME TIME LATER

Dom and Andi are still wandering. They are getting a bit
delusional. Andi is still DRAWING a line on the wall with
her sharpie.

DOMINIC
Can I ask you something?

ANDI
Sure.
DOMINIC
Do you remember those info-mercials
that were always on when we were
kids?

Yeah my grandma would always watch
them. Where'd that come from?

DOMINIC
I don't know. They would always
play in the waiting room at the
hospital mom worked at. I don't
know why I thought of them.

ANDI
I remember them being kind of
cringey. People dropping stuff and
creating problems that you don't
really need a stupid invention for.

DOMINIC
Yeah but the people always looked
so happy when they got to use their
stupid info-mercial crap.

ANDI
Are you saying that you DON'T want
a cupcake the size of your head
made with a stupid mold?

DOMINIC
Yeah for some reason I don't really

ANDI

The two continue on, Dom supresses a laugh while Andi

continues with her elaborate info-mercial shpeel.

EXT. SUBURBAN NEIGHBORHOOD - SUNSET: JUNIOR YEAR

Dom and Andi are riding their BIKES through a neighborhood

as the sun sets across an orange sky. Andi is laughing at
Dom whose trying to attempt some ridiculous trick on his
bike.

He STICKS out his arms, balancing without his handlebars.

DOMINIC
(re: the handlebars)
C'mon, try. You don't need them.
Andi hesitantly removes one hand from her handlebars, then
the other.

She looks up at Dom and laughs.

They ride like this, laughing for a moment.

Then Andi hits a ROCK and tumbles off her bike.

CUT TO: The two are walking their bikes now. Andi's knee is
BLEEDING from her fall.

DOMINIC
You still planning on applying to
State School next year?

ANDI
Yeah. Still the plan. Not like I
could afford any other school.

DOMINIC
You could also not go to school ya
know?

Andi scoffs at him.

DOMINIC
I'm serious. You treat everything
like it's the end of the world.
Just do what you want to for once
in your life. Plus you've got time
to decide! We're only juniors.

ANDI
I know what I want. It just happens
to require a bachelors, and
probably a masters, and maybe-

DOMINIC
I'm just saying you deserve a
break.
They walk in silence for a beat.

ANDI
Well what about you? How are you
supposed to be the world's greatest
literary analyst without a degree?

DOMINIC
I'll figure it out.

ANDI
Do you ever get scared?

DOMINIC

ANDI
Well you always seem so sure that
everything will work out. I could

Andi and Dom round a corner and see a wall covered in

WRITING and CRUDE DRAWINGS. Arrows, eyes, hand prints, and a
dog like creature, among others.

Some of the text is nonsense or in foreign languages but

some makes sense.

Andi and Dom inspect the wall.

INSERT: A SECTION OF THE WALL, SOME OF THE TEXT READS

"M.E.G. HAS THE ANSWERS" OTHER SECTIONS READ "M.E.G. LIES"

ANDI
I wonder what M - E - G stands for.

DOMINIC
Moms- uhm . . . Eating -Ga-Gur-

ANDI
Dom shut up.

DOMINIC
(reading off of the wall)
"Navigation has proved to be
difficult. Linear space becomes
indistinct" Yeah no shit.
ANDI (O.S.)
Hey check this out!

Dom rushes over to where Andi is and kneels beside her. She
points to some TEXT scrawled in the bottom right of the
mess.

It reads: "FOLLOWING THE LIGHTS WILL LEAD YOU TO SALVATION"

Dom and Andi look around. The lights above them BUZZ
steadily.

DOMINIC
Follow the lights? What does that
mean?
ANDI
No clue. Why do hints have to be so
vague?

DOMINIC
They're written on a wall in a
literal hellscape and you're
wondering why it's vague?

Andi rolls her eyes.

ANDI
You think MEG is like a group then?

DOMINIC
Probably. It's good to know there
are other people in here who are
alive.

ANDI
Well one cryptic message is not a
lot to go on. Especially, since we
haven't seen a single living person
the whole time we've been in here.

DOMINIC
But it's better than just wandering
around without looking for anything
specific.

ANDI
True.

They stand and Dom takes a picture of the wall with his
phone.

They continue on their way. A low GROWL is heard.

INT. LEVEL 0 - SOME TIME LATER

Dom and Andi stand in front of a LADDER propped against a

wall. It's almost bizarre in how average it is. Just a PLAIN
OLD LADDER.

The electrical BUZZ of the lights intensifies.

ANDI
(re: the lights)
You don't think...

DOMINIC
"Following the lights will lead you
to salvation"

Dom takes the ladder and props it up against a wall close to

one of the fluorescent lights.

Andi shrugs off her backpack and discreetly rummages around

inside until she finds her KEYS.

She closes the bag quickly and climbs the ladder, the
humming INTENSIFIES even more the closer she gets.

She takes her keys and begins to UNSCREW the four SCREWS
that anchor the casing of the light.

One falls to the floor and softly THUMPS on the wet carpet,
then a second, then a third.

Andi holds on to the light with one hand and unscrews the
last screw with the other.

ANDI
It's gonna fall. Get out of the
way.

Dom takes a step back.

ANDI
Okay. One, two, three.

Andi lets go of the light and nothing.

They both pause, confused.

Andi looks up. There are four screws in place where she had
just unscrewed them.

She looks down. There are four screws on the floor.

Andi unscrews four more screws.

THUMP

THUMP

THUMP

THUMP
. . . nothing.

Andi DESPERATELY continues to unscrew screws. They land in

the wet carpet.

She starts to BREATH HEAVILY, panicking. The electrical

buzzing overtakes her hearing until...

EXT. PARK - CLOWDY AFTERNOON

16 YEAR OLD ANDI is sitting on the park bench. Cop cars and
flashing lights surround the scene. She watches as an
INVESTIGATOR places an evidence label with the number 2 on
it on the ground.

He then picks up A KEY FOB in a gloved hand and puts it in

an EVIDENCE BAG.
DETECTIVE TAYLOR walks up to Andi. He crouches on the ground
in front of her, speaking softly.

DETECTIVE TAYLOR
Andi? Is it okay if I ask you a few
questions?

ANDI
This is all my fault.

DETECTIVE TAYLOR
No, kiddo. It's not. None of this
is your fault.

ANDI
I was supposed to be watching her
and now she's gone. I looked down
at my phone for just a second and
when I looked up...

Detective Taylor sits beside her on the bench.

DETECTIVE TAYLOR
Kiddo, you need to get this through
your head. Nothing that you could
have done would have changed
anything. No action you could have
taken, no thing you could have
said. I know you're probably making
up senarios in your head where you
saved her from this. You can't do
that to yourself.

ANDI
I don't know if I can stop. I know
if I had just-

Andi is looking over at the EMPTY SWING SET. The swings

CREAK as they swing back and forth in the breeze.
DETECTIVE TAYLOR
Andi, look at me.

She turns and looks at him.

DETECTIVE TAYLOR
We can't change other people in
this world, no matter how much we
might want to sometimes and some
people are... sick. They are sick
and fucked up. Whoever took your
sister, I would bet you anything
that they would have done it even
if you were looking.

ANDI
Is that supposed to make me feel
better?

DETECTIVE TAYLOR
(flustered)
No. But it is supposed to help you
know that this is not. Your. Fault.

Andi looks down at her clenched fists in her lap.

DETECTIVE TAYLOR
And we're gonna do everything we
can to find this guy. You can't
blame yourself for this. It'll eat
you alive.

Andi looks over at him again.

ANDI
Maybe I deserve to be eaten alive.

INT. LEVEL 0 - CONTINUOUS

DOMINIC
Andi!

Dom has been CALLING for her. She looks down at the pile of
screws on the floor.

DOMINIC
Andi come down. We could build a
house with the amount of screws
down here. Just give it up.

Andi drops her hand from the screw and climbs down the
ladder.

She almost collapses against a wall, drained from her panic.

She slides down the wall and sits there; breathing hard.

Dom watches her for a moment before taking a seat against

the wall beside her.

ANDI
We are never getting out of here.

A beat.

DOMINIC
Fuck.

OVERHEAD VIEW OF ANDI AND DOM'S LOCATION.

ZOOM OUT TO REVEAL THE SCOPE OF LEVEL 0.

Millions of miles of an endless maze. It has no end.

Andi and Dom are still seated by the LADDER.

Andi takes a sip from her WATER BOTTLE.

She offers it to Dom and he takes it.

ANDI
I owe you an apology.

Dom shakes his head.

DOMINIC
No you don't.

ANDI (CONT'D)
Yes I do. I was an asshole. You
invited me to try to cheer me up
and I was an asshole.

DOMINIC
I just thought you were acting so
weird because you're a tight-ass. I
really need to be more observant.

ANDI
I do too. And I'm not a tight-ass.

Dom takes a sip from the bottle, screws the top back on and
shakes it.

Almost empty. He hands it back to Andi.

DOMINIC
You were right though.
ANDI
About what?

DOMINIC
Noah is a dick.

ANDI
I still shouldn't have said what I
said. I just...

DOMINIC
What?

A beat.

ANDI
I just wanted to ... Punish myself?
I know that doesn't make any sense.

DOMINIC
No, it does.

Andi is fidgeting with her backpack as she says this.

ANDI
I just can't lose anyone else.

Dom nods. They sit in amicable silence for a long beat.

ANDI (CONT'D)
You never really answered my
question earlier though.

DOMINIC

ANDI
Well you said it yourself. He's an
asshole. Why do you even bother
with him?

INT. SAMANTHA'S APARTMENT - EARILIER THAT NIGHT

Dom is leaning against a wall in the hall, drink in hand.

He's observing the party but it seems like he's focused.

He's here for a reason.

Noah slides into frame next to him.

DOMINIC
So?

NOAH
Do you have it?

DOMINIC
Of course I fucking have it. Do I
look like a fucking idiot?
A beat.

NOAH
Are you gonna give it to me?

DOMINIC
Nope. Not until you give me what I
need.

NOAH
What the fuck dude? I've done
everything you asked.

DOMINIC

Dom slips the FLASH DRIVE from his pocket and FLASHES it to
Noah.

Noah looks back and forth from the Dom to the USB. Dom
slowly slips the USB back into his pocket.

NOAH
Alright, fine. So here's what went
down.

INT. HOSPITAL PHARMACY - DAY

Noah is sorting PILLS behind the counter of the pharmacy.

His name badge says PHARMACY STUDENT.

He stands out against the clean, sterile atmosphere of the

hospital; like he doesn't belong.

A woman sneaks in through the back door of the pharmacy.

Noah notices her in the reflection of the screen in front of
him as she makes her way past him.

She weaves her way through the isles of medication.

She's sweating, nervous.

She scans the shelves and her eyes land on a specific label.
she reaches for it.

NOAH
Ms. Martinez?

She jumps and turns towards Noah, hiding the PILL BOTTLE
behind her back.

MS. MARTINEZ
Noah! You startled me.

NOAH
Sorry about that. Is there anything
I can help you with?
MS. MARTINEZ
Um . . . no I think I'm alright.

Are you sure? You know you're not
supposed to be back here.

MS. MARTINEZ
Yeah, I'm-

If there's anything a patient needs
I'm sure I can help you find it.

MS. MARTINEZ
Uhm, I just realized I forgot the
patient's chart. I'd forget my head
if it wasn't attached. Let me go
grab that. Just to double check.

She rushes past Noah before he can even say anything. He

turns and watches her as she leaves.

PAN TO THE SHELF SHE TOOK THE PILLS FROM, THE LABEL SAYS

INT. SAMANTHA'S APARTMENT - EARLIER THAT NIGHT

NOAH
Then she rushed past me. I swear
that's all I know.

Dom closes his eyes and leans his head back against the
wall.

DOMINIC
Fuck, mom.
Noah looks at Dom for a beat and then stands up and starts
to walk back towards the party. Dom follows.

NOAH
She's in major trouble if the
hospital finds out she took those.
Like
'never-working-as-a-nurse-again'
trouble.

DOMINIC
You know alot about that kind of
trouble?

NOAH
All I'm saying that that you should
probably talk to her.
Dom pinches the bridge of his nose.

DOMINIC
Yeah probably.

I'm not sure if she was just gonna
take 'em or if she's in some sort
of trouble with someone but after
that last thing I told you about...

DOMINIC
Yeah. I get it.

NOAH
Is that all you need?

DOMINIC
Yeah...for now.

INT. LEVEL 0 - CONTINUOUS

Dom pauses for a beat before speaking.

It's clear he didn't tell Andi any of this. She would just
worry.

DOMINIC
Just trying to give him the benefit
of the doubt, I guess.

Andi is clearly frustrated by this answer. But she bites her

tongue.

ANDI
Just...be careful with him?

DOMINIC
Yeah I will. Thanks.
ANDI
I just don't want you to get hurt
again. It would be awful if-

DOMINIC
I can look out for myself.

ANDI
Yeah I know. I just don't think
you're seeing-

DOMINIC
Andi, this is why I said I needed a
break from you. When you're not
being weird or defensive, you're
trying to control my life.
ANDI
That's not true!

DOMINIC
Yes it is! And the fact that you
can't see it is insane. I can't do
it anymore.

Andi takes a DEEP BREATHE and opens her mouth to argue when-

SLAM

Out of nowhere, a FOLDING CHAIR slams into the wall right

between the two, thrown at an incredible speed.

They scramble to their feet, exclaiming in surprise and

shock.

A beat.

DOMINIC
Holy fuck.

The two look at each other, HORROR in their eyes.

They slowly look over towards where the chair was thrown
from. Nothing.

But whatever is lurking around the corner, SNARLS.

Andi and Dom bolt out the opposite entryway.

They run through room after room, weaving left and right.

Whatever creature was following them is no longer concerned

about being seen or heard.

The GROWLS and SNARLS follow them, getting closer.

ANDI
What the fuck is that?

DOMINIC
Why the fuck do you think I would
know?!

They run through an entryway and Andi YANKS Dom by the arm
to the right.

They take another sharp right turn and Andi presses their
backs against the wall, motioning for Dom to be quiet.

The creature is just around the corner, right on their tail.

It stops to SNIFF THE AIR.

Andi cautiously PEEKS her head around the corner to get a

better look at their attacker.
What she sees makes her BLOOD RUN COLD. The HOUND is a
dog-like creature with long, thin, backwards facing limbs
and dark, matted fur.

It's eyes are wide, human-like and it's snout is long and
lined with sharp teeth. There's something about it that
makes it feel as though it's human.

It TURNS towards Andi as though it could feel her watching

it.

Andi retracts herself around the corner quickly and SHUTS

her eyes tight.

DOMINIC
What is it?

Andi can only shake her head.

The hound sniffs around the room again and suddenly it's
quiet. Way too quiet.

ANDI
(whispering)
Go. Go.

They quietly start to slide along the wall.

Behind them one of the lights FLICKERS for a moment.

The two STARE.

The hound turns the corner and Dom finally gets a full view
of what's been hunting them all this time.

DOMINIC
Holy shit! Go!

They begin to RUN again.

As they run LIGHTS FLICKER momentarily in front of them.

Then the next one.

Then the next one. Almost guiding them.

The lights guide them sharply to the left and Andi loses her
footing and SLIDES on the wet carpet.

She slips out of one of her YELLOW CONVERSE.

Dom grabs her arm and yanks her up.

They continue to run.

HER SHOE is left behind, "A+M 4ever" visible as the hound

FLIES past.
Dom takes a moment to assess their surroundings as they run.

To his right he sees THE WALL WITH THE WRITING all over it
and right by it, Andi's line that she drew with sharpie.

He grabs her hand and pulls her with him, following Andi's
line.

ANDI
No! The light-

DOMINIC
Do you want to fucking die?

They continue to follow the line Andi drew, retracing their

steps through the maze. The growling creature is still
behind them but they are gaining ground.

One more turn and they are back to the two walls with the
gap in the middle from earlier.

Dom exclaims in triumph.

Andi pulls her backpack from her shoulders as they run

towards the gap.

Dom steps in and SHIMMIES his way into the gap as fast as he
can, Andi close behind.

The hound SLAMS into the wall desperately trying to push

it's body into the crevasse.

It's clawed arm reaches out for them, SNAGS Andi's arm. She
cries out in pain and they move out of reach.

The hound's jaws and teeth SNAP, drool flying everywhere.

Andi and Dom shimmie their way to the exit of the gap, Dom
stumbles out and Andi follows.

The hounds CRIES are heard in the distance.

DOMINIC
(Breathing heavily)
Are you okay?

Andi looks down at her arm. BLOOD trickles down towards her
elbow but it isn't serious.

ANDI
Yeah I'll be fine.

They both stand there with their hands on their knees,

catching their breath.

Andi's heavy breathing turns into LAUGHTER.

Dom looks at her, confused.

DOMINIC
Why the fuck are you laughing?

ANDI
I don't know. That was kind of... I
don't know. Exhilarating, don't you
think?

DOMINIC
Are you being serious right now?

ANDI
Yeah, you don't feel it? The
adrenaline corsing through your
veins?

DOMINIC
Adrenaline's a drug, you know that
right?

Andi's look she gives him says "I'M SICK OF YOUR SHIT"

A FLICKERING LIGHT grabs their attention.

In front of them is a long hallway. The light closest to

them flickers and at the end of the hall? A DOOR.

They look at each other.

DOMINIC
Salvation.

They jog towards the door.The lights flicker, always in

front of them; pulling them towards the door.

The SCRATCHING of claws is heard behind them. The hound made

it through somehow.

Dom turns to see it running at them at full speed.

DOMINIC
Run! Go!

The two take off as fast as they can go.

For a moment there's the fear that the hallway will stretch,
making it impossible for them to get to the door but no.
They are getting there, just slowly.

Together they put on one final BURST OF SPEED and it's

exactly what they needed.

Dom RIPS the door open and Andi runs through but the second
she takes a step through it, she PLUMMETS. Fast. She reaches
behind her at the last second and grabs Dom's hand.

He is pulled into darkness after her.

The door slams shut behind them just as the hound reaches
it.

MONTAGE

Presented like a DREAM SEQUENCE, these shots are a bit

blurry; as though they've faded in someone's memory.

MELISSA (Andi's younger sister, 6 years old) plays on the

swings at the park. She laughs joyfully.

A dark, hooded figure stands by the park. They are almost

hidden in the tree line of the forested area surrounding it.
But not quite.

The swings are empty, but still CREAKING and swinging in the
wind, as though someone was just there a moment ago.

A storage facility, with orange storage unit doors as far as

the eye can see.

An empty computer lab, there's an info-mercial playing on

all the screens.
