Paharpur Series 22.2 gear reducers are used in smaller
industrial cooling towers, larger non-industrial fiber
glass reinforced cooling towers and air-cooler
applications, manufactured to operate at motor horse
powers of up to 60 HP for intermittent duty. The
efficiency of gear sets used in Paharpur gear reducers
is 98 to 99%. The overall efficiency of the units is
approximately 95% , the difference being accounted
for by the viscous drag of oil and bearing friction.
The Series 22.2 is a single stage gear reducer with
spiral bevel gears. Case, cover and pinion cage are
made of high quality cast iron. Gears are made of
high strength alloy steel conforming to SAE
4620/8620, duly case hardened. Fan shafts are made
from high strength steel as per BS 970 and are
hardened and tempered/normalized for superior yield
strength. Bearings are conservatively selected heavy
duty taper roller type.
Gear ratios available for this series are 3.45:1, 4.56:1 &
5.50:1.
