SUBJECT : USING DATA TO DRIVE INSTRUCTION WORKSHOP

The Ministry of Education, National Reconciliation and Ecclesiastical Affairs will

conduct training for teachers of selected schools in data driven instruction and
tracking students’ progress on October 3 and 4, 2017 from 8:45 am- 3:00 pm daily.

In light of reports which reveal several deficits in literacy skills among students,
the professional development programme aims to improve students’ performance in
Literacy.

The sessions therefore will provide opportunity for teachers to:

• Use assessment data to inform instructional decision making

• Develop intervention plans to guide instruction in Term 1
• Explore the collaborative approach that will lead to professional communities
of learning
• Foster an appreciation for greater accountability with regards to students’
learning
