EXSPOSITION

Exposition text is used to express opinions about a problem by presenting arguments or supports in
the form of evidence, examples, and logical reasons, so that it can increase the knowledge and
insight of the reader.

OBJECTIVE

The exposition paragraph aims to explain, explain, convey information, teach and explain something
without being accompanied by an invitation or urging so that the reader accepts or follows it.

CHARACTERISTIC

• The delivery of the text is straightforward and uses standard language.

• In the form of writing that provides understanding and knowledge.

TYPE

• Definition exposition is a paragraph that explains the meaning of something clearly and in detail.

• Identification exposition is a paragraph that describes a manufacturing process, the process of


doing an activity and the process of something happening.

• The analytical exposition is a paragraph that contains the division of the problem on the main idea
into certain parts which will later be arranged into sequential and systematic paragraphs.
• An illustration exposition is a paragraph that is developed based on a simple description of an idea
or idea.

• This paragraph describes one topic and another that is linear.

• In its application, it often uses connecting phrases like and like.

• The exposition paragraph contains a contradiction between one thing and another.

• The connecting phrases that are often used are however, on the contrary and even though.

• News exposition contains information about events or exposure to certain research results.

• This type of text is often displayed in the mass media, both online and in print.
