1 Function Description

1.1 Application
The combined starter is used to start the
separator and the feed pump of a separation
system.

Depending on the installation, the starter may

also be used to stop the system. This is not the
case when the starter is used together with a
separation system control unit.

1.2 Design
The controls are located at the front of the
combined starter cabinet.

1 Function Description Combined Starter

1.3 Working Principle

The combined starter supplies power to the
separator motor and to the feed pump motor.

It also provides power for an electronic

control unit.

1.4 Operation

Manual Start
In manual mode, the separator and pump are
started from the combined starter.
1. Turn the mode switch to the “MAN”
position.
2. The separator and pump can now be
started manually. See the Operation
Instructions for the separation system.

Automatic Start
In automatic mode, the separator is started
from the combined starter, and the pump is
started by the control unit.
1. Turn the mode switch to the “AUTO”
position.
2. The separator and pump can now be
started in an automatic sequence. See the
Operation Instructions for the separation
system.
