SUBJECT: Diesel engine / Buffer module

PURPOSE: Reducing the engine start delay

APPLICATION: PC4000/6D SFS

FAILURE CODE: 55C2NA (B1)

DESCRIPTION:

• Before carrying out any repairs, read all the safety instructions
W in the Operation and Maintenance Manual of your shovel.
• The Parts & Service News AH10509 (latest edition) and local
safety rules must also be observed.

Issue:
Battery main key is on. Lock lever is in the LOCKED position.
Operator turns the switch key in the ON position (1b). The Pre-lube system
of the engine is working and the buffer module will be charged.
The buffer module is needed to keep the voltage for electronic components stable during
the startup process of the engine.
After about 2 minutes, the buffer module is loaded and the operator can turn the switch
key to the start position (1c). After starting the engine, the key must be released.
If the operator tries starting the engine before the buffer module is completely charged,
nothing will happen. Engine will not start.

Solution:
Change the wiring of the buffer module from the key switch to the battery main switch.

Advantage:
Loading the buffer module starts immediately after turning on the battery main switches.
If the operator is sitting in the cabin, he can start the engine without further delay.
