Campus Visit

Reflection

Name of campus: Morningside University

In person OR virtual tour: In person

Date visited: December 2, 2021

1. Describe the campus. What was your overall impression, or feeling, about this
campus?
The Morningside University campus felt very comforting for me. I love how everything was
close to each other, so it won’t take long for students to get from place to place. There was
also a lot of nature surrounding the campus: trees, flowers, and ponds.

1. Can you imagine yourself attending this campus, or one like it? Why or why not?
Yes, I can imagine myself attending this campus because of the layout and atmosphere. For
instance, all of the trees across the campus grabbed my attention since I grew up in a
desert. In addition, the walk from the freshman dorms to the Robert M. Lincoln Business
Center was only three minutes long. This will be beneficial for me, especially when it’s
snowing outside.

1. What did you like best about this campus? Explain.

My favorite thing about the campus is the connection to nature. The pond, flowers, and
trees brought a sense of ease to me when on my campus visit. I believe this will really help
me clear my mind before and after each class.
1. What did you like least about this campus? Explain.
My least favorite things were the classrooms and size of the Robert M. Lincoln Center. The
building itself was smaller compared to other buildings and didn’t have many classrooms.
The classrooms were also old and didn’t have many renovations. However, I heard that the
president at Morningside University is considering adding a new business building in the
next couple of years.

1. What would you like to know more about? Explain.

I would like to know more about their plans of building a new business center in the
coming years. Morningside University has multiple new buildings that just opened these
past couple years and the Robert M. Lincoln Center is one of the oldest buildings on
campus. Knowing this, I think it would be beneficial for an upgrade.

1. How will your visit affect your future plans? Will you apply to this campus (or one
like it)? Why or why not?

This campus visit was a massive factor in helping me decide that Morningside was where I
wanted to attend college. All of the staff in each building was very welcoming and it felt like
everyone was one big family. My perspective completely changed about the college after
visiting and experiencing it in person. It taught me to not judge anything until you
experience it firsthand.
