CASE STUDY OF TEAM WANG BRAND IN CHINA

TEAM WANG design is a luxury streetwear label founded by Jackson Wang, co-
founded by Henry Cheung, and based in Shanghai, China. The brand embodies spirit
and legacy with its slogan, "Know yourself, Make your own history."
TEAM WANG design provides more imagination than a brand; it is a vision.
Through conveying the brand philosophy, establish a new attitude and new image for
the public, "Fashion is not about just wearing the best brands, but it is about finding the
style and making confidence."
Most collections focus on minimalist essentials, and the design of "EYELETS"
behind each piece, symbolizing connection and cohesion, is a reflection of oneself in all
directions.
INVISIBLE MAN
By breaking the conventional thinking, TEAM WANG selects invisible man to
substitute the model in the traditional sense to present the products in the opinion of
Jackson Wang, the creative director and the designer of the brand: TEAM WANG
should not be prematurely represented and defined by a definitive image.
In the universe of TEAM WANG, it tears off various kinds of social labels, breaks
the bounds for being the ubiquitous, and almighty Invisible Man who cannot be defined
with the exploration of limitless possibilities beyond knowledge
TEAM WANG and Palm Angels have come together for a sleek capsule
collection. Palm Angels Creative Director Francesco Ragazzi and Jackson Wang of
TEAM WANG teamed up to push the boundaries of their craft in a collision of music and
fashion. The sleek collaborative range is centered around the iconic palm tree and
draws inspiration from traditional Chinese ink paintings in an expression of the flower
between water and ink. The result is a scenic graphic of a moon gazing upon palm
trees, dubbed “Night at the Beach” by Jackson Wang. “The Palm Angels x TEAM
WANG collaboration started from a conversation between Jackson and I during a time
when the world was divided, both physically and mentally. Despite all the limitations we
are experiencing, we managed to merge the best of both worlds and cultures, creating a
sparkle in the collection that we want people to enjoy for its quality, design, and utility,”
said Francesco Ragazzi. “I am very excited with the blending of two different brand
DNAs between TEAM WANG and Palm Angels.
The bridging of Eastern and Western cultures with this collaboration is part of the
history that we are creating with TEAM WANG design,” said Jackson Wang. The TEAM
WANG x Palm Angels capsule collection features eight unisex pieces rendered entirely
in black. Items include the Track Jacket and Pants, Souvenir Jacket, Sweatshirt,
Bowling Shirt, Long Sleeve T-shirt, Short Sleeve T-shirt and Cropped Tee. The “Night at
the Beach” is expressed with a crumpled paper effect serigraphic print that highlights
the union of the motif.
TEAM WANG compliment the sophisticated sleek texture of velvet, representing
a new modern collection for the modern man. COOKIES—THE VELVET contributes to
TEAM WANG with its iconic design elements, EYELET and metal buckles,
and introduces the new brand logo metal plate as a symbol of luxury. The TEAM WANG
logo design on the back employs a low-key but bold method of dark fringe embossed in
relief, giving off resilience and strength alongside the gloss of soft velvet. This
collection comprising of 11 unique items, part of an outerwear collection, consist of
down jackets and vests, round-neck sweaters, t-shirts, handbags, fisherman hats,
baseball caps, small accessories and other fashion items. The jackets and down jackets
of the COOKIES collection are lined with the MONOGRAM twill design, which not only
embraces more iconic elements, but define various the elements of today’s man.
TEAM WANG COOKIES-THE VELVET collection campaign, self-confidence and
vitality are the main focus of the ideal VELVET man. The velvet that personifies the
entire collection is itself a fabric full of strength and emotion, yet soft like skin. In the
campaign, the invisible man wrapped in velvet pieces is confronting his own body,
symbolizing the self-struggle and introspection that every official member face in the
self-understanding and exploring process. Furthermore, his flexible limbs embody his
resilience and fearlessness, which can adequately resist all the fatigue caused by this
kind of self- analysis, and finally transforms him into his true self – a sophisticated man.
This time the Concept Space theme of THE VELVET collection—“ME vs ME” is also
designed to output the same concept. We hope to continuously explore the internal self
through fashion and expression with our official members as our canvas. Only through
