MODAL VERBS

- Động từ khuyết thiếu là động từ nhưng lại không chỉ hành động mà nó chi giúp bổ nghĩa cho động
từ chính.
- Những động từ khuyểt thiếu này có thể dùng chung cho tẩt cả các ngôi và không chia theo thì. Các
động từ theo sau động từ khuyểt thiếu này được giữ nguyên thể.
- Các động từ khuyết thiếu thường dùng là: CAN, COULD, MAY, MIGHT, SHALL, SHOULD, WILL,
WOULD, MUST, OUGHT TO, NEED, HAVE TO.

CAN - diễn tả một khả năng (ability) Can you swim?


She could ride a bicycle when she was
- Trong văn nói, CAN được dùng thay cho five years old.
