Wyefeild Campus
By Emily James
SCENE ONE INT. CLASSROOM – EARLY AFTERNOON

MIA and CHLOE are sat next to each other in an empty classroom
revising. Mia drops her pen dramatically.

MIA
I’m bored.

CHLOE
(scoffs playfully and answers without looking up)
Maybe if you actually revised instead of
just looking out the window you wouldn’t be
bored.

Mia looks at Chloe with a frown.

MIA
I already tried that… it was even more boring.

They both look at each other for a second and then chuckle slightly.
Chloe sighs, puts her pen down and turns with her shoulders to look
at Mia.

CHLOE
Fine. What do you suggest we do then.

A mischievous grin spreads across Mia’s face which makes Chloe

visibly nervous.

MIA
Cmon, this campus is like HUNDREDS of years
old… there has to be some secrets and cool places,
especially in the abandoned wing.
Chloe shows very little interest in Mia’s idea.

CHLOE
(raises her eyebrows, uninterested)
You mean the very restricted and frankly very creepy
abandoned wing on campus.

Mia nods and begins packing up all her things very excitedly. Chloe
just sits there looking at her, once Mia packs up her things and
sees Chloe’s still out on the table so she huffs and packs up her
stuff into her bag. Mia picks up both bags and grabs Chloe by her
wrist, dragging her out of the room.

SCENE TWO- INT. STAIRCASE – EARLY AFTERNOON

CHLOE
I never agreed to any of this.

MIA
But you never disagreed.

Chloe starts laughing and takes her bag out of Mia’s other hand.

CHLOE
(jokingly)
Why am I friends with you?

MIA
One of the world’s greatest unsolved mysteries.

SCENE THREE EXT. COURTYARD – EARLY AFTERNOON

The two girls out of the building still laughing a little bit
and make their way towards the abandoned wing. CAMERA CUTS
BETWEEN LONG SHOTS OF THE GIRLS WALKING. Mia opens the door to
the abandoned wing and enters with Chloe following behind her.

CHLOE
This place smells so musty it actually makes my
stomach turn.

MIA
Stop being dramatic
(sniffs lightly and makes a face of disgust)
Okay… maybe your not being dramatic, god it
smells like something died in here.

CHLOE
Something probably did. You know the stories
about this place don’t you?

MIA
(stops walking and faces Chloe)
What stories?

CHLOE
Ha… your serious? You’ve been going to this
college for nearly two years how have you
never heard the stories people tell about this place.
(Mia stares at Chloe expectingly)
well, it changes depending on who your asking
but the one I’ve always heard is that a first year
came in here for a dare, everyone outside heard screaming
they assumed he was joking, but he never… came… out.
Mia stares at Chloe emotionlessly, Chloe stares back at her
awaiting a response.

MIA
(laughs out loud)
Bullshit. I call so bullshit.
That’s just a stupid story kids made up, I can
even bet you money that the teachers made that up
to keep us out of here.

CHLOE
Oi… I’m not lying.

MIA
(throws her hands up in sarcastic mercy and begins to walk off mid-
sentence)
I’m not calling you a liar… I’m calling you gullible.

CHLOE
Fine.
(in a jokingly creepy voice)
Disregard my warnings at your own peril.

Both Mia and Chloe laugh and keep walking through the halls.
CAMERA TRACKS THE GIRLS FROM THE FRONT WITH CENTRAL FRAMING. There
are cut together shots of the girls walking through hallways always
tracking with centre framing.

CHLOE
Okay we’ve been walking here for ages and there’s
nothing here… also this place is starting to give me
the creeps.
MIA
Chill out we’re not going to get murdered.

CHLOE
You don’t know that.
Can we please just go.

MIA
Five more minutes, and I promise if we get murdered
I’ll be the first to say sorry.

CHLOE
(sarcastically)
Ha Ha

Mia and Chloe keep walking through the school and come across a
door.

MIA
Oooo a secret door

Mia pushes the door slightly and it opens slowly revealing a dark
small room. Mia steps forward into the room, but Chloe stays at the
entrance of the door. Mia notices Chloe staying behind and turns to
her.

INT. BASEMENT – MID AFTERNOON

MIA
Come on stop being a baby.

Chloe hesitantly walks into the room and stays behind Mia.

CHLOE
I saw a film once, and this is exactly how
the kids in the film die you know.

MIA
(laughs slightly)
Your so dramatic we’ll be fine. I think
this is the basement.

Suddenly there are sounds of creaking and rustling that seems to be

coming from every direction until they settle in one corner to the
left of the girls. They both sharply turn their heads to that corner
but don’t dare to make a sound.

MIA
(nervously chuckles)
I-it was probably just a rat or something.

CHLOE
(panicked)
I don’t think I believe that any more than you did.

MIA
Okay I think we’ve seen enough

SCENE FOUR .INT. HALLWAY – MID AFTENOON

Mia and Chloe begin to walk towards the door they came through
before, but they hear rustling noises again. They latch on to each
other’s arms and slow their walking.

SCENE FIVE .INT. BASEMENT – MID AFTERNOON

MIA
I still think it’s a rat.
CHLOE
(shakily)
Hello??

Hello???

MIA
It’s a rat Chlo it’s not going to respond.

Mia and Chloe start to walk off slowly, still cautious, they slowly
get more scared as the tension increases, rustling can still be
heard in the basement. LULU jumps out from a corner, Mia and Chloe
scream as Lulu begins to laugh at their reaction.

MIA
(takes a deep breath to calm down)
LULU! What the fuck! Not cool.

LULU
Sorry, couldn’t help myself.

MIA
How did you even find us?

LULU
Well I heard you guys talking in the study corner
about visiting the abandoned wing and I thought I come
and give you scare…
(gesturing to Mia)
I knew you of all people couldn’t help but
go into the basement of a dark, creepy building.

Lulu notices Chloe’s silence and starts laughing at her reaction.

LULU
You alright Chlo?

Chloe
Er yeah… just trying to start breathing again.

Mia, Chloe and Lulu start laughing. Suddenly the rustling noise
starts again, but this time it is a little louder and a has a more
animalistic undertone. Mia, Chloe and Lulu look around and begin to
look frightened.

MIA
(disbelievingly)
Okay Lulu very funny… you can stop now.

LULU
That wasn’t me.

MIA
We’re leaving, now.

Mia and Lulu race to the door with Chloe following behind them. Mia
and Lulu begin to pull on the door, but it isn’t opening.
MIA
(struggling)
It… won’t… open.

LULU
It must be stuck because it’s not locked.

Mia and Lulu continue to pull on the door but it won’t open. Chloe
is behind them and begins to panic. Her breathing increases and her
steps back. The camera cuts to a close up of her face.

CHLOE
(quietly)
We’re trapped.

MIA
(still yanking the door)
COME ON! OPEN!

LULU
(now banging on the door)
HELP! PLEASE!

Chloe’s breathing is still quick. She looks to the floor and closes
her eyes to try and calm down. The camera pulls into her face as she
looks up and opens her eyes. Chloe’s eyes turn black and the camera
cuts back to Mia and Lulu, who have just given up on the door. Mia
and Lulu, defeated, look at Chloe.

MIA
Chlo? You good?

Chloe chuckles to herself.

EXT. Hallway – Mid afternoon

The camera cuts to a pull out shot of the door.

MIA
Chloe… what are you doing.

LULU
Chloe what’s wrong with you…
NO!
CHLOE NO!
MIA
NO! CHLOE! HELPPP!

Indistinct screams can be heard. Camera cuts

END.

Clearances and Confirmations
Contingency Plan
What are your plans for if something goes wrong? What back up actors,
locations and equipment do you have?
In the case that one of my actors is unavailable I will use Daisy Hogger, who
will be on the college campus, or I will use friends from Chalfont St Peter, Keira
Moore, Matthew Ashley and Poppie Holdaway. I will also film with them in the
local area.

If using my planned locations on the campus of Henley college are

unavailable I will use a local abandoned garden centre called Wyevale
Garden Centre.

If the battery on my camera is running low there are power sources in various
places across the school and I will also have a spare camera battery. I also
have a spare SD card in case I use the space on the one I already have.
