Based on the lecture about nationalism: 5-7 sentences for every question.

1. Can an individual be nationalistic but NOT patriotic OR patriotic but NOT nationalistic? Explain your
choice. (10 pts)
Nationalism entails emphasizing togetherness through a shared cultural background, including
language and heritage, otherwise loyalty. Patriotism refers to a love for a country, with a focus on
principles and beliefs. I learned that anyone can profoundly be loyal to its country but cannot totally love
it. And my answer to this question is yes, because if Nationalistic is all more than that called love then
why we are in the verge of being not in the First; where in fact other countries fought because of how rich
in minerals our country. But I think we are not resourceful that much to innovate. You can love a country
even you are not a nationalist just merely a love. Love for a country is not the Philosophy of attaining one
of kind achievements. Therefore, you must rather love the wisdom, because this wisdom will drive you to
do incredible things to your surroundings and think for your future and other people.
2. Is the Philippines a strong state OR a weak state? Explain your choice. (10 pts)
In our state this time I can definitely say that Philippines is not a strong state. We all know that
we are still in the verge of being a third world country despite of so many years had gone by. We are still
in the struggling to get up and rise like how Japan is now today after 77 years ago; the great history of
World War II where Hiroshima and Nagasaki were dismantled by United States of America Atomic
bombs doomed these places. But are we that capable as them? Even more than a typhoon also destroyed
cities in Japan year 2011. A massive Tsunami devoured their lands, but they still survived and now race
as First-Class Country. And yet the Philippines’ people seeking opportunities abroad to chase their dream
of having a good living. If we also should invest in technology, where our governments will give
programs or projects to create something new. We have talented Engineers but most them went abroad.
Our economy is not that good as we all see it. And Military as well is that capable of it own, we lacked
military equipment, foreign US soldier visited us to trained our Militaries. We have a billion debt,
thinking that if we divide it to the population of Philippines then maybe I would rather go back to my
mother’s womb. There are still not so much in this country this is because we lack the Nationalism.
