RECTITUDE CLUB-COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMME

-Each One, Teach One

“Education is like a flame of fire that needs just a medium to be spread, a small spark can ignite
a whole flame.”

As per the last census, the literacy rate in India was around 74%. In our day-to-day lives, we find
people who are not as privileged as us, who cannot even read or write.

Let us utilize this summer break to help the underprivileged people of the society and give them
the most invaluable gift there is- Education. By teaching every mind to nourish itself is not just
an initiative on the individual level but is also an investment which yields great results in the
form of the contribution that the young minds tend to make with their enlightened thoughts and
ideas.

Objective: To be able to inculcate social responsibility and moral duty towards the less
privileged strata of the society and to enhance humanitarian approach in the ongoing scholastic
domain of education.

Details of the project:

Identify one person in your locality who is willing to learn from you. Each student will teach one
person like your housemaid, watchman, garbage collector, vegetable vendor, underprivileged
children near your locality etc.
• You can teach basic literacy/ English/numeracy/ textbook content (whichever is age and
grade appropriate for your learner)
• Click pictures while teaching and keep a record of your learner’s progress. You can make
your own worksheets to assess the learning of your learner.
• Record a video testimonial of your learner’s experience and mail the link to the class
teacher.
• Make a project file and add all these worksheets, pictures, and your own reflections on
your journey of teaching and how you felt doing this project. The reflection sheet should
have the learner’s details and your action plan for his/her teaching journey.

You can take help from the following heads:

❖ Did the learner show interest while learning?

❖ How many hours per day did he/she learn from you?
❖ How many days did you undertake the activity?
❖ Were the worksheets given by you useful?
❖ Do you and your learner wish to continue the project?
❖ What were your major learnings from the activity?

Submit the project file to your class teacher by 10 July, 2022.

Please note that this project is mandatory for all students of classes VI-X, under the Rectitude Club
at DPSG and would be assessed under the Co-Scholastic Domain.
