PT Materials: DIY Anemometer materials and tools, Electric Fan, Ruler, Timer,
Videorecorder

Products 1 & 2:
A Video while making a DIY Anemometer and A picture of the
finished product
Science Procedures:

1. Follow the steps on how to make a DIY anemometer shown at this link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWzGDEDVEgY
2. Prepare all materials. Make a 3-5 minute documentation of you making the
device and using it with an electric fan. Editing is optional. Save it and follow
this file name format: LAST NAME_FIRST NAME_ANEMOMETER VIDEO.
3. Then, take a CLEAR picture of your finished device.
4. Submit your video and picture in the google form:

Notes: For Math and TLE answers, print the answer sheet below.
Read the procedures in Math and TLE carefully.
Provide what is asked in each procedure.
Hand-write your answers.
Take pictures of the answers.
Upload the pictures in the same google form above: https://forms.gle/b89MCQFmQP9fZKgB8
Product 3: Answer Sheet

Math Procedures:

1. Measure the distance between 2 opposite cups of your anemometer in

centimeters. This is the diameter. Record it below. Compute the
circumference using the formula given. Use a calculator to solve. Round off
your answers to the nearest hundredths. Write your answers in the blanks
below.

Given: Diameter (d) = 15.3 cm

Formula: Circumference (C) = 15.3 X
3.14
Solution:
C = 15.3 cm X 3.14
C = 48 cm

2. Place your anemometer in a windy area or in front of an electric fan. Place it

in such a way that it is easy to see how many times it spins. Once it is
spinning in a continuous way, count the number of times it makes complete
turns in 60 seconds. Record it as trial 1. Take two more trials. Record your
observations accordingly in the table below.

Trial 1: 5 rotations per minute (rpm)

Trial 2: 4 rotations per minute (rpm)
Trial 3: 5 rotations per minute (rpm)

3. Calculate the average number of rotations per minute by adding the number
of rotations in 3 trials and dividing the answer by 3. Fill in the blanks.

Average Number of Rotations per Minute = Trial 1 + Trial 2 + Trial 3

3
= _5__ rpm + _4_ rpm + ___5_ rpm
3
Do not use a calculator to solve this. Manually show how you added the
decimals for the 3 trials below; and how you divided the answer by 3. Follow
proper steps in adding and dividing.

Manual Calculation:

4. Calculate the speed of the wind by multiplying the circumference and the
average number of rotations per minute. Use a calculator to solve. Fill in the
blanks below.

Speed of the Wind (in cm/min) = circumference X average number of rotations per minute
= 48 cm X 4.67 rpm
= 224.20 cm/min
Pamamaraan sa TLE:

English ang pangalan) panghasa, pambutas at pang-ukit)
 Pandikit
 Glue Stick
 Pambutas
 Gunting
