Project Introduction.
Description:
• Games village is the accommodations for the athletes participating in the common wealth
or Asian games.

• As per details provided by the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF), about 75

countries participate in the event and there will be about 7500 athletes, players, coaches
and team managers etc., who will be coming for the event.

• As per Asian games federation about 45 nations participate in the event of about 4000
athletes, players, Coaches etc will be coming for the event.

• The event of common wealth games consist of 286 sessions which last for 11-15days.

• And the Asian games consist of 275 sessions which last for 10-13 days

Motivation:
• To uphold the dignity of the Country by hosting the international games by providing
inclusive accommodations for the national and international athletes.
• To solve the urban housing issue of the country for the later use.
• To project our country’s culture to the new generation.

Need of the study

• Feasibility/ Justification.
• It is required to have a games village in case of any international event.
• It is to provide inclusive accommodations for the athletes participating in these events.
• To develop a sense of spirit in the athletes towards sports and other events taking place.
• To provide a design to satisfy the standards of the countries participating in the events.
Therefore there shouldn’t be any complaint regarding the well being of the athletes.
• To provide a new platform for the emerging youth to participate in the international
events.
 Aim:
• To design a sustainable, eco-friendly and energy efficient building accommodations and
subsidiary building for the athletes participating in the international events.

• At the later time these buildings made available to the citizens of the country to be used
efficiently and solve the housing problem of our country.

Objective:
• To make a significant contribution to the comfort and wellbeing of the national and
international athletes.

• To design inclusive accommodations along with subsidiaries to satisfy the athletes.

• To design spaces for the guests from worldwide.

• To promote sportsmanship by projecting our culture through a touch of vernacular

design. and provide energy efficient techniques

• To give a sense of relaxation by providing green and open spaces and subsidiary
buildings for other activities such as gym, swimming pool, spa, cafeteria etc.

Scope of the project / Limitations

• The scope of the Project is to design Spaces for accommodations suitable for the healthy
and a sustainable environment along with green spaces and landscapes. Energy efficient
construction techniques are also used in the building design.

• To design the inclusive accommodations along with the subsidiary, such as swimming
pool, gym, cafeteria, security and parking facility.

• Some of the techniques which might be used depending upon the site are :
