Self Reflection

Our initial idea was the idea we ended up filming with. We ended up doing a segment and

getting an interview from the engineering students in the school . In our segment , the kids show

how magnetic boots are made .

During our pre production phase we were writing our script for our segment. We decided

on all of the shots we wanted to use and put them on a shot sheet . During this phase of

production we were figuring out which days we wanted to film and which days we wanted to

edit by making a production calendar . We also sent out emails to the engineering shop teachers

on which days it would be best for her and the class . We also pitched our ideas and did a lot of

research on NASA Hunch and what they had done in the past.

During the production phase we filmed our project. We went to the classroom about four

times to film with the kids. It was very awkward at first because the teacher was extremely

intimidating . We were so scared we didn’t want to talk to her and the students . Then , we had

camera problems the first time we went to classroom and it was overall a disaster. After filming

with the engineering shop, we needeed to film our intro and outro and we had to use my phone

because Mrs. Lazarksi was not in school and we were nervous it was going come out bad .
 Our post production phase wasn’t so bad. We had all of our footage and the filming from

my phone actually came out pretty good too. The computers we were using had not been updated

and it was very slow to edit. Our project did not save properly and we ended up starting two

same project. Our after effects kept getting deleted as well. It was a disaster working with that

computer. We also found some clips from the NASA website for our project also .Sabrina ended

up leaving for California during editing and I ended up finishing the project before the break.

My production process was definitely Pre- Production. I was actually excited writing the

script. I had fun time coming up with ideas for our project. It was also very cool doing research

on these topics because they very important to learn . Pre- Production was also very stress free

for me because it was very organized .

Some off the challenges we had were talking to the engineering students and talking to

their teacher also. We were very nervous and intimidated with them. Another struggle we had

was trying to get the video to exactly 2 minutes . We had a lot information that we had in our

video we did not take out . Filming in the studio tho was strength for us and doing our interview

also went well.

I personally think we reached our target audience because we hit all the points we wanted

come across. It also fit in our genre as well which was a documentary because it had a lot

information in the video.
