uefioi: (Puzzles, Riddles)

In Sanskrit a puzzle or a riddle is known as


yefcrH. A puzzle is
something
only gives that not
knowledge along with happiness but also sharpens
and devclops the intellect. Children can happily gain
knowledge and improve their language by asking riddles
to each other. Five simple riddles are presented in
this chapter. Read cach one carefully and find its
solution (answer).

Answer : A coconut. A coconut
grows at the tip of

three 'cyes' and a rough skin-like

Answer: A shoe: A shoe doesnot have teeth but
even then it crushes stones/ pebbles. A shoe has no life
but even then it makes a lot of noise. It is stitched with
thread and walks with (due to) a human's foot.

Answer : Three questions have been asked in this


puzzle and their answers are glven one by one in the
fourth quarter (part) of this shloka. ( 1 ) Musk is created in
the navel of a deer. (2)A lion kills a herd of elephants
and (3)A coward runs away during battle. This is an

internal answer (3aNTaT,)' poem (couplet).}
